No wonder Bratislava feels like a frenetic mix of wild and urban, classic and contemporary: it became capital of newly independent Slovakia only in 1993. Bratislava preserved spires and squares from its 18th-century heyday, but now socialist-era monuments (and an eyebrow-raising cast of statues) have joined the party. Speaking of which, Bratislava痴 nightlife is crowd-pleasing whether you prefer beer halls, rooftop cocktails or stag-party mayhem.

Hello Daniel,
I was surprised to find Bratislava a much nicer city than I had expected. During the days of Czechoslovakia it was always in the shadow of Prague. The streets in the old center were very picturesque, as is obvious from this photo. The young couple holding hands is the perfect ingredient for a good composition.

Hello Daniel,

This is a fine, close crop of the narrow street, using the tight framing of the buildings to edge the scene and channel interest inwards.
The romantic couple make a good focal point, strongly positioned.
You have good light and shadow contrasts to add further interest.

A very picturesque and charming street with beautiful facades and leading us to the corner building with striking columns.
I find it a bit surprising that a street with cobblestones leads to a building with columns.

The cobblestones are not the best road for drive with my bike!

I like the pop out cobbled stone which leads the eye thru' the alleyway bounded by such attractive classic olde worlde buildings. The figs are fine addition as a whole and the soft pastel colours works extremely fine. A joy to view.
