Photographer's Note
Inside the Mesquita in Cordoba, Spain .
In 784AD construction started as a Mosque under the Moorish .
With the capture of Cordoba by Fernando III in 1236AD the mosque converted to a cathedral .
Inside the Mesquita are row after row of arches and pillars. Marble was required for the mosque's construction. Many of the pillars in the Mesquita were pilfered from earlier Roman buildings in the vicinity of
the town.
This is a scaned-print from 6/1998 of one corner of the huge Cathedral.

Hello Ike, Great shot of this cathedral and very good notes as well. You have managed to capture many of the arches and that is very immpressive. Great scan too. One can certainly see the degree of marble evident in this structure. Very nicely done. Regards, Roger

Hello Ike,
Nice repetition of the arches with columns converging at the far end. You have managed the light well showing some nice details of the interior. The people add scale to the image. Like the colors too.

Thanks for directing me towards this Ike...I'm not sure what it is, but there's definitely an aspect very similar to the picture I posted!? :) Like a punch to the face, the red & white stripes stand out without question! I like how the center column holds this together while the striped arches descend back into the picture following those patterns, it gives solid depth and a fun repetitive perspective. This looks pretty good for a scan too, the colors appear natural. I can imagine there must have been some great photo opportunities with this kind of design and construction, yes? :) Thanks for sharing the view. Have a great day.
Al the best,

Hello Ike,
You're capturing well this architecture by a good angle and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see the mosque converted to a cathedral. Surely, it seems to hold a Mosque under the Moorish because of peculiar constraction way and interior design of the inside. Anyway, it looks like an interesting architecture which Islamic culture united with Christianity.
Kind regards,
mikio

Hello Ike,
I realise that you had problems with sharpening the photograph because it was scanned but, apart from the slight loss of clarity, this is a very well considered and composed photograph.
I love how you have shown the beauty of the arches, with their striped details, and created an excellent sense of perspective. The last arch is situated at a strong vanishing point.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
