Photographer's Note

The Guadalquivir river is the only great navigable river in Spain. Currently it is navigable from the Gulf of C疆iz to Seville, but in Roman times it was navigable to Cdoba.

The modern name of Guadalquivir comes from Arabic, meaning "the great valley".

There were a variety of names for the Guadalquivir in Classical and pre-Classical times. The native people of Tartessians or Turdetanians called the river by two names: Kertis/Certis and Rerkēs. The Romans called it by the name Baetis (that was the basis for name of the province of Hispania Baetica).

Hello Daniel,
A good choice for this higher viewpoint to overlook the walkway along the river. I like the contrast of light and shadow as well as the green colour of the water. Well captured and composed.

It's a fine view from above. This angle often produces interesting compositions. I like the colours of the water, and a lady in red is never wrong.

Hello Daniel,

This is an interesting and quite uncommon viewpoint which allows us to see how well this composition shares the frame between the water and the land. The split is almost on a diagonal,
I like how we are encouraged to follow the riverside path, to the focal point where the people, the dog and the lamppost are united in a strong position.
There are some interesting light details.

Superb shot with wonderful light and those important shade & shadows along with subtle catch lights on the striding figs is indeed an icing on the cake. I also like the impact of the pale blue color on the bottom right. same type of impact with the green water on the left. nice to have the red jacket as well, but most of all the pov is most effective. nice shot

Except for being colour, it resembles to some of the high perspective photos of Henri Cartier-Bresson. It is really nicely composed and the persons are placed very well. I also like the colours and lights on this photo.
