500th, second anniversary and last one, a photo from Burgos, Castilla y Leon

Photographer's Note

500th, second anniversary and last one.

Perhaps some of you could think that for celebrate this photo I should post something 都pectacular�, but I prefer post this photo.

First, Quintanilla del Coco (if you follow my photos you値l understand why I do).
Second, in this photo we can see a few details that I consider very interesting for me and for this photo.

The light.
The street.
The wet floor with the light reflected.
The rainbow.
That woman crossing the street.

This scene looks very natural, but at the same time is, for me, powerful.
But... but I see the photo and I feel that something is turning off... but the times goes by and everything will be the same again.

That痴 the life.

The best that I can offer to TE (the best that I have could offer) has been... myself.
I mean that everyone of us have a different vision of the world and I致e liked offer mine to you.

Because we talk about the world through ourselves, aren稚 we?

Well, is not the moment for a long text.

How did I meet TE for first time?
It was in 2004 year. And after discover TE I needed more time for 砥nderstand� what was TE.
In 2004 I take part of the Paralympic Games, in Athens. I was part of the coach staff.

And... how can it be important?

Very easy.
The reason why is important is... a woman.
She was gorgeous. She was wonderful. And she was from Lavrio, a Greek city.
I meet her during the Games, in Athens.
And when I came back to Barcelona I wanted to find out more things about her. And, then, also I looked for her born-city.

Then, this woman and Lavrio were the key.

Once I致e said it, I must say that only there are a few pictures from Lavrio.
And one of them, the best one that I致e seen, a large panoramic photo, has been deleted.

That痴 the story.

Only I can add that time after I decided to begin what has been a long story with all of you. And today is the second anniversary of the beginning of this long story.

Very touching note with this photo. Photo is good with fine light and strong composition. Nice warm colors and rainbow which add some elusive feeling inro whole scene.

Hola Carlos, I can see the power of this image. The atmosphere is amazing and with that light it has some mistery in it. It's a wonderful image and I'll remember it for a long time. A woman!?!? Vale es numero 500 y es de Quintanilla del Coco, claro. Como dice Oscar - casi se ve tu casa pero no. De todas formas es una foto muy bonita.
No entiendo porque no te dejaron poner las 4 fotos (de donde fuimos contido ?) en lo que es tu album de fotos. Es diferente si lo vendes. Por ejemplo, ya lo se que no tengo derecha vender una foto del viaducto del Millau pero enserlo en mi galeria personal - a quien le importa.
Con esta foto dices adios y yo digo hasta pronto.

Hola Carlos!

En primer lugar, no estoy de acuerdo con lo que escribes sobre la foto. Para mi, es espectacular, como minimo, una de tus mejores fotos, con tremenda fuerza! Es una foto perfecta para ese anniversario que deberia ser un dia de fiesta, pero resulta un dia de pena si te quedas con tu decision. Yo creo que tienes que pensarlo de nuevo, caro amigo. No se que puedo hacer para convencerte (si hay algo).

Tu nota me ha hecho entender muchas cosas sobre ti. Tu pregunta sobre Lavrio (uno de esos dias voy a intentar a dar una vuelta por alli, a ver si sale alguna buena foto), tu amor por Grecia, y tu ultima pregunta sobre como hemos descubierto TE. en mi caso fue por pura casualidad. Ojala tuviera algun motivo tan sentimental como el tuyo. Nada mas!

Ha arribat el moment, per� com que no m'agraden els comiats, no m'acomiadar�.
La teva 伃tima foto, a m駸 de ser de la teva estimada Cocol瀟dia, 駸 una foto preciosa, per l'ambient tan ben captat despr駸 d'una de les t厓iques tormentes d'agost, on el cel es posa negre i decarrega de tot, aigua, llamps, a vegades pedra. El terra mullat, la senyora que camina de pressa per si torna a ploure, l'Arc de Sant Mart�, el cel que fa por, encara molt carregat, i, sobretot, el sol que ja comen軋 a picar l'ullet entre els gruixuts n俿ols, donant una brillantor al terra y una maca llum sobre la pedra de les cases, tot funciona a la perfecci� per donar una gran bellesa i uns colors fant灣tics a la teva composici�.
Gran treball, i gran galeria, que espero no s'estanqui en el n伹ero 500.

Una excelente imagen, como muchas de tus fotos, pienso que es una buena forma de celebrar tu foto nｺ 500, al tiempo que inicias una pausa en TE y que espero dure poco.
La foto me gusta mucho y adem疽 tengo que decirte que probablemente eres de los mejores fotrafos de TE en nuestra piel de toro y esta que nos presentas es un ejemplo m疽 de tu buen oficio.

Creo que este no es el momento de criticas, creo que es un momento para decir adios y recordar las cosas pasadas, has sido un buen comparo y guia de tantos buenos momentos aqui a traves de TE. De verdad que me apena verte partir pero se que es por tu bien y tu futuro. Espero que tengas muchos exitos en tus estudios y que de vez en cuando nos recuerdes y ya sabes que tienes un gran amigo en Santo Domingo.
Creo para que no me saquen debo poner algo sobre la foto, la encuentro excelente , una de tus mejores.

I have been here for 4 years now. How could I ever imagine I would be so attached to the site and to the people Iｴve met here. Sometimes people are more important, sometimes the pictures they upload bring not only their visions of the world to me, but also a bit of themselves.

I do not remember if I celebrated any 100th or 200th images, but i remember i celebrated my 4th anniversary here counting the days, a kind of a private joke...

I do not want to interpret this wonderful image as a farewell, because itｴs not. you have too much of yourself to offer to the world. your job is precious and blessed the people who live with you around.

Carlos, as I am glancing through some of the comments unfortunately only quickly, I am sad to hear that you might be leaving. You have been such a wonderful friend here to me, and to many others for sure. If possible, stay. If you find your calling elsewhere, of course I understand...

PS Yesterday I saw a most most beautiful young woman. She looked like an angel, with a huge shock of blond curly long hair. It took me a while to realize that she had no legs. She was racing her wheelchair very happily, radiating with a big smile, to catch up with a little girl who was running beside her. They were so beautiful. I thought of your shot of paraplegics...

First of all congratulations for this 500th post on TE, impressive number, showing how dedicated you are to this community.
Now the photo, for me it is spectacular. Why? the light reflected on the right side buildings and its interaction with the darker areas makes a nice contrast. The rainbow back there gives interest to the high amount of sky you have included on the photo, then the lady just passing by on the streets of this wonderful little town. Finally all the interesting details of architecture on the houses.

A series of high quality photos,and this one is a very good example.
The light is superb,it warms the houses and highlight them with a good contrasting sky,and behold,a nice rainbow to celebrate the end .
But they say that the end is also a beginning,a cycle that goes on without end,a renewal....So hurrah to your rebirth,a phoenix that I hope to meet,one way or the other,one of these days.

You have won the jackpot with this one. Rainbows are not seen often in Istanbul and if they are there are little chamces to be at the right place WITH a camera. Most of the time I see them when driving and I get frustrated. Llevaba bastante tiempo sin parar por TE, hoy por fin he vuelto y por un lado me alegra ver esta imagen que creo sobra comentar porque sin duda es un excelente trabajo, pero tambi駭 siento pena por tu marcha y no poder disfrutar de tus fotograf僘s en este periodo breve de alejamiento o al menos esperamos que sea breve.

From your impressive album of shots it's difficult to choose. I chose this not only because of the quality of the shot but also for the occassion you posted it. The moment you captured here is like a dream, the rainbow, the rain drenched street, the p[ath inviting us & leading us beyond & of course the lady crossing the street. I loved reading your note and I was moved. You're a true artist with your camera & with words. I feel unfortunate that I did not see your photos earlier, but then it's better late than never. A big congrats on your 500th post & wish to see many many more from you

A fine mood in this view with the colored arc on a deep grey sky and the sunspots on the houses, the reflection of the wet street, the lady asa scaling eyepuller, a well colorbalanced and composed scene Carlos with a strong mood.

Hi Carlos,

I should have seen it earlier. Very dramatic. One side with shadows and one with sunlight. The lady in the middle of the road and the mighty rainbow adds splendidly to the composition. An interesting note you have written.
