Photographer's Note
Plaza de Castilla Madrid.
I don't know why the golden tower was not built to be in between the towers. The skyscrapers behind (Quatro Torres) are much higher but are several km up the road.
I was lucky to be able to take this photo. I came out of the underground station and turned to stare at this magnificent sight not realising that there was a tiny little step and I started to fall. My first worry was that my Nikon D90 and 18-200 were around my neck and the lens was bound to hit the ground first. Anyway I somehow managed to make my knee, hand and then the corner of my camera touch the ground - saving the rest. The camera has a scratch and my knee and hand were sore for a few days.

Hi Nikki
oh how i'd love to spend a day to two just photographing this city centre!!
lovely steel blue sky, with equally beautiful diagonal lines, with the sunlight shimmering off of the metalic buildings.
the composition works very well, keeping the street level out of the frame.
excellent work
cheers

Bonsoir Nikki
Tout une aventure cette image...
La lumi鑽e est magnifiquement g駻馥.
Bravo

Stunning image, Nikki, of the two old (well, I think they date back to the mid-1980s) towers which symbolise Madrid as much for me as the Puerta del Sol or the Grand Via. It's a shame that the developments on the old Real Madrid training ground now overshadow them. Composition, exposure and degree of polarisation all spot on.
