Last summer we made a road trip through central Spain and found ourselves arriving in the capital to wrap up the trip. This is what we saw upon our arrival in Madrid, just after we'd parked our car in the underground parking lot near our hotel. We imagine the roads this car must have travelled on. Now, dusty and weary, homesick, at rest in an underground parking space, it collects dust.

Does this car still dream of being driven about town? Would it still recognize the city above, which must have changed a lot since it was left here? Or has it abandonned all hope of ever being driven again?

I must admit I don't like cars much. I own one, basically because I need it to get to work. For me/us holidays and car travel don't go together. We don't like having to follow directions and worrying about places to park, etcetera. During the last two corona summers however, we've been on road trips in Europe: first Germany (2020), then Spain (2021) and we must say we kind of liked it, though.

Hi Benny,
Wonderful view of this oldtimer seemingly appearing from shadows. The place indeed looks like it has been there for decades. It was interesting to search for identification of this car model, which seems to be SEAT 1500.

Hi Benny,in this period in which this site seems to have become a car dealership, your contribution was missing, and here it is. But it is really different, a middle-aged car, probably stolen and then abandoned, and the dust leaves the signs of time. I agree with your ideas regarding car holidays. Het lijkt er op dat deze auto hier een maanden geparkeerd staat.
Of spreken we van jaren.
Bent u een specialist in fotograferen in oude gebouwen of oude fabrieken.
Ik ben geen fan maar ik heb enkele vrienden die die daarvoor echt uitsloven
