Photographer's Note
In the municipality of Burujn, Toledo town about 30 km from the capital, we can find one of the most beautiful, shocking and amazing natural sites in the province.
Burujn Canyon are spectacular clay cut that have been formed by wind erosion and sediment waters of the Tagus about 25 million years ago.
The extension of these gullies of reddish clay is about one kilometer long and reach more than one hundred meters in some places, particularly in its highest peak, which is known as the "Pico del Cambron".
In addition, within Las Barrancas is Castrejn Reservoir, which gives even more beauty to this place and makes it a haven for many species of birds.
The wealth of this privileged enclave we can see through the "Green Canyon Trail," which has several viewpoints from which you can admire these spectacular cut, along with its flora and fauna.
Speaking of its flora one must refer to the two types of vegetation growing in Las Barrancas: The riparian vegetation, which seat between high reeds, cattails, blackberries, willows and tamarisks are; and Mediterranean vegetation, which include thyme, rosemary, almond, broom ball and mainly ephedra and juniper.
In terms of fauna include the existence of a variety species, among which we can find rabbits, hares, partridges ...
However, the most striking wildlife Las Barrancas refers to the large number of birds that can be found in your environment: storks, ducks, ducks, egrets, herons, cormorants ...
But also to dominate their environment the Mediterranean forest, the natural landscape of Las Barrancas provides habitat for numerous species of endangered birds such as the peregrine falcon, imperial eagle, Bonelli's eagle, marsh harrier, eagle owl, barn owl , kestrel, black vulture ...
All these factors contribute to Burujn canyons are one of the most beautiful corners of the province of Toledo. Although, in turn, it is one of the most unknown places, as long its location has gone unnoticed by most visitors, mainly due to the unexpected it is to find this wonderful and impressive place at the end of a track It delves among farmland.
To access Las Barrancas is necessary to take a dirt track located at kilometer 26 of the CM - 4000, the road from Toledo to Talavera de la Reina through the Puebla de Montalb疣. Specifically, coming from Toledo, we find the track on the left, just a few meters before crossing Burujn.
Once located the track, the information panels located along ecological path of Las Barrancas lead us to this natural landscape of rare beauty.

Hola Manuel,
This was surprising!
I thought it was somewhere in the USA!
It is a most wildly, beautiful place.
I like how you have used the curve of the canyon to act as a guide around the scene. The limited colour palette adds to the impact of this remarkable place.
Your photograph seems, perhaps, just a little over-sharpened or, maybe, it is the effect of my monitor.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hola Manuel
Wow what beautiful, untouched, unspoilt landscape. The textures and rich red colours are a feast for the eyes. It reminds me a lot of Australia, what a pleasant surprise to see this in the middle of Europe.
Warmest wishes

Hola Manuel,
The Tajo river that flows through the canyon, created a wonderful natural-lake on its way to the ocean, giving fresh water to the desert area.
Super-POV while looking from a high point, visibility was excelent that day.
P.S. There is a bit of noise on the image, maybe due to the fact you uploaded a large KB pic. - no need for that, the TE site reduces automatically to same size of all photos. I normally upload a 1000+/- KB photos.
Buen fin de semana,
Ike

Hello Manuel,
Thank you very much for your interesting note.
Dear Manuel, I would once less sharpness give, we get too much grain, notwithstanding a very well picture.
Great panorama view about the area.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice long weekend,
John
