Photographer's Note
Its fun trying to hunt down these scenes at art galleries. Its a win-win situation...If you find a great human subject to place in the scene with the artwork its a total bonus...if you can't find that human element you can still take the time and enjoy the art for what it is.
You can't really go wrong.
Rob is a big fan of creative photography at art galleries, so I hope you enjoy this one my friend.

Hi Craig,
I like how the two people have a similar colour scheme to those in the painting. You caught a tender moment between the two viewers, while the painting captures a sadder scene. Great depth of field and light control.

Indeed, Craig, managed to capture a special moment when sneaking behinde people...
Though the man was bussy either reading or looking at his phone, otherwise looking at the painting would be much more as attraction, yet the outcome of that precise action is a fun photo to compose.

Hi Craig
Well observed. At first sight it almost looks as if the couple of gallery visitors were part of the painting. It's also amazing that there are three pairs of dramatis personae here (one of them the nun with a child) that wear clothes of similar colour: one dark and one light/pinkish.
Thank you for your kind critique to my last photo. I normally use an umbrella when shooting falling snow on a tripod but this time it was a quick handheld 1600 ISO job to capture the falling snowflakes. I used a lens hood to protect the glass and then the camera went back into the rucksack until the next photo.
Best wishes
Kasia

Hi Craig,
What could I add to your note! Yes, there's strong connection on the couples both in the painting and reality. Also colours match well.

Hi CRaig,
Well seen. As if the couple is part of the greaving. It is completing the painting.
Thanks and regards,

Hello Craig,
This is exactly the kind of photo I like to see from museums. Interaction between the art and the onlookers always makes a photo so much more interesting, and in this case there is also interaction between the figures in the painting and the connection of pink and dark clothes that Kasia pointed out. And the postures of the young couple would have been worth a photo even without the painting.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Craig,
You have captured well the concentration of the couple. The point of view is showing the details of the painting. The light is enhancing the colors. Have a nice day.

Hi Craig
Large works of art requiring plenty of wall space to hang them, plus enough room around them as well. Also, enough distance to get back to view properly. Lovely how the couple fit appropriately in your image, wonder what they think of the wall piece...
Great observational skills, very cool shot!!

Hi Craig
Beautiful painting. I would like to see it without that couple, but the composition is interesting though.

Hi Craig,in fact the human presence gives a decisive touch to the composition, the classic photo of the painting alone would be a bit obvious. Great contrast between the couple's moment of love and the very sad scene in the WS, very often this painting has been used to make funny memes in Italy by putting the face of a dying Berlusconi in the place of the elderly lady..ahaha .. Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hello Craig,
Leaving aside the frame of the painting and the legs of the visitors, it seems as if the couple is part of the depicted sad scene.
The young couple is also placed in such a way that it does not hide an essential part of the painting.
Best regards, Paul

A well captured art gallery photo but are the couple really looking at the painting?

Hi Craig,
It made me thing of Rob indeed.
It is a fantastic scene here. The couple seems to be very affectionate to each other. You caught them in a really nice pose here set against the nice painting slightly off the centre.
Perfect catch!

Hello Craig
My compliments for the tight alignment of visitors at near field leaving much of the limelight to the painted characters.
I had an idea for a poster in your living room: Why not trying to antiquate only the visitors, from waist up by means of an appropriate PS brush, and crop the size of the wood frame for a puzzling artistic effect!
Cheers

Hello Craig, an excellent capture, you can enjoy the art whilst waiting for some spectators to come along.
Excellent composition, where we can view the painting too.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Craig,
From this POV, it looks like the couple in the museum is mourning the sad scene along with the people in the painting. I don't know this painting, but it seems like the man in bed is not doing well at all. Nice presentation of this moment. Take care!

Hello Craig, Rob and Gert would be very happy to see such a scene. And me too. It is great to see the pieces of art but observing the visitors is also fun. And when you show only the painting, the credit should go to the artist and not to the photographer. l seen scene, amazing how the colours match.

Hello Craig
Here I like the colour coordination of the 2 woman in light pink and white and the 2 guys in dark clothing and trousers. The repetition of the couples is another aspect. Tfs!

Hello Craig,
I enjoy this, too.
The painting is a most interesting and well represented subject, filling the screen and surrounded by quite neutral colours. Then the affectionate couple, in the f/g become the modern link, as well as creating a fine sense of depth.
It's a really well composed photograph!
Thank you for your interest on my most recent post.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Great museum picture, Craig, though my feeling here is that the couple aren't really sympethizing in togetherness with the sad scene in the painting, but rather just checking their mobile phones. Damn those contraptions!

Hello craig
A good combination with a young couple in the foreground. The effect of painting can be seen in the behavior of a young couple. Clarity and lighting done well. Beautiful shot. thank you
