Photographer's Note

I was working in a pilgrim house this summer and took this shot of a morning pilgrim walking the Camino de Santiago. A pilgrimage across all of northern Spain.

this is my first picture with TE, and I am looking forward to this photography community.

Welcome to TE and thanks for having started with a beautiful picture of my country. It's a lovely and impressive image, with a wise use of b&w and a good dose of mistery thanks to that dramatic atmosphere you get with that kind of foggy background. Regards.

A special feeling in this somehow. The pilgrim and his backpak says something about a long road ahead and his position along one edge with a long perspective to move into strengthens that. The foggy light in the far back brings a feeling of early morning.

WElcome to TE Brady. A moody atmosphere enhanced by the B&W. There is a sort of mysticism in the fact that the subject is walking towards the fog. There's also a feeling of solitude which is symbolic of the fact this is, before all, a self experiment for the ones engaged in this pilgrimage. Enjoy the community.

I've take a look at your gallery and i must say that you have nice black and white picture.
But for me this one is the best.
The way you framed the pilgrim in the picture is very clever. it gives the idea that he's just in the beginning of a long journey.

I like this one. Even though it's misty, I think I'd prefer a little more true black in the image - I'd shift the dark end of the histogram up a bit.

Hola brady, me gusta tu galeria en especial que tienes muchas fotos blanco y negro, esta imagen en particular es una de las que mas me agrado es sencilla de mucha carga no solo para el caminante, tmb para mi por que me recuerda mis epocas de aventurero, espero retomar eso, saludos.

It is interesting to see this first posting, coming up in "random"...
It is a good image, original in composition... A special mood because of the fog and the atmosphere seems to fit the situation... B&W rendring well done and maintaining good tones!

Hi Brady, I realised just now that, although I've seen your recent postings and we seem to like the same sort of photos, I'd not looked at your portfolio. This was a gem of a first posting. Perspective, contrast, mood. I think it tells the story of el camino well - the light at the end of the road reflecting the unknown, real and spiritual, into which the medieval pilgrims were travelling. Stephen
