Winter light, a photo from Sodermanland, Svealand

Winter solstice, good news in my ears:)The northern hemisphere has its longest night and shortest day around the moment of winter solstice. Luckily this winter has been quite mild compared to the previous winters in Sweden!
This lamppost is captured on Sermalm, the area in Stockholm were I grew up. Once known as a slum working class district is today a popular district with rising house prices.

Merry Christmas! (or like we say in Sweden: God Jul)

This has an artistic simplicity with the lamp throwing a shadow against the wall. I love the snow left on the lamp. very well balanced composition and nice muted colours.

The subject is simple but with a fine composition and sharp exposure, you have created a very pleasing, artistic photograph.
There is a sense of movement across the frame as the sharp lamp becomes stretched by its shadow and its textures change profoundly on the wall.
