Uppsala promenade

The fa軋de of the building on the background is the Uppsala Konstmuseum.

Probably you wondered why I wasn稚 inside to make some photos of the visitors in interaction with the art, but the museum was CLOSED.

This friendly couple was strolling and enjoying the beautiful weather. I think they didn稚 regret that the museum was closed. Later on we saw them parade in the beautiful 釘otaniska tr臈g蚌den�.

Hello Rob,
The couple with their parasol sit well against the salmon pink fa軋de of the museum. Whereas the lady on her own without the parasol would have no difficulty in blending into the background. An appealing daily life image, nicely illuminated and with excellent colours and clarity.

Ook buiten een museum kunnen de blikken van mensen spannend zijn. Waar is deze dame in onder het toeziende oog van haar partner in vredesnaam mee bezig? Het lijkt wel of ze een ring van haar pink aftrekt. Is de relatie over? Ze stopt in ieder geval veel emotie in haar actie.

Hello Rob,
It's a nice composition with very well matching colours. The iron railing to the left may disturb a little bit, even though the colour is perfect. A peculiar thing is the umbrella. It's very rare to see Swedes protecting themselves from the rare sunshine this way. They were probably tourists or foreign students at the large university.

Hello Rob,

You are shooting from the ground up. Now, what does that wrought iron handrail go, down the stairs to a wharf, and the sea? It's a great shot of the courting couple, set against the salmon colored exterior of the art museum. I'm sorry we will not see any of your photos of visitors and the artwork. Some of your photos hang in the two galleries, Pictures at an Exhibition I and Pictures at an Exhibition II.

The museum backdrop's in semi-pink is an ideal background for the picture, themes for valentine's day - but nevertheless, it is a nice take.
A parasol in Sweden on summer, that's odd.

Hello Rob,

to some extent typically swedish (guy with nordic appearance, wearing a dress resemtbling national colours), to some extent not (lady). What I generally find startling is the swedish tendency to have big fa軋des painted in unicolour without any structure, giving a huge, though not totally positive impression. Would have been much less without the rusty railing. Well done!

Orange red background adds more style to this shot. And the couple looks good too. Parasol is not a common object in Uppsala, I guess. But in July that can be useful.

I know you love museums and art galleries, Rob, but the couple have certainly taken precedence, here! Full of curiosity, we just cannot take our eyes of them! The umbrella is a great gadget for covering and holding attention on them!
The museum does have a purpose; it makes a warm b/g against which we can view the couple, whilst the railing helps to create a good sense of depth.

U kon niets beter bedenken om het koppel voor de gevel te plaatsen.
De dame is deels in de gepaste kleuren, past bij de architectuur.
Mooie presentatie, scherp en mooi van kleur.

The elegantly dressed couple make a fine focal point. The bg peach or apricot colored wall with its multitude of windows reflecting blue skylight provides an excellent warm cold color contrast, Good sharpness and framing. Tfs!

Hallo Rob,
Dat stoepje en het hekwerk geven de indruk dat je plat op je buik als een paparazzo foto's lag te maken. Deze Zweed houdt het parasolletje wel heel galant voor zijn zus omhoog. De tinten van haar jurk sluiten goed aan bij de gevel van het museum.

Hi Rob,
couples are a great theme to photograph. This one looks lovely indeed. They have the umbrella for the sun which is kind of funny view especially coming from Sweden.
The building in the back makes a great background.
I don't like the metal barrier in the left though which destroys a bit the romantic mood.

Yes, indeed I have been thinking what a change in your gallery, but as you explained it is in fact relating to a museum :)

i wanted to check out some of your other shots, so i went to Sweden. a small thing, I think it would look better if you cropped the photo on the left, removing the hand rail, but thats just me :) Overall its a very pleasing shot with that orange funky peach color on the exterior wall, and of course the woman in pink/rose, while the man protects them with the umbrella. I like it. cute and real scene
