Photographer's Note
A shot of the University of Uppsala Botanical Garden (in Swedish Botaniska tr臈g蚌den). It's near Uppsala Castle, built in 1549 AD by Gustav I Vasa, & is the main botanical garden belonging to Uppsala University. The garden was created on land donated to the university in 1787 AD by Sweden's King Gustav III, who also laid the cornerstone of Linneanum, its orangery. (An 'orangery' is a type of greenhouse for growing oranges in winter.) Despite the pyramid shapes of the topiary shrubs, I doubt if any archeological digs would reveal any fabulous hidden treasure troves!

Green small pyramids on a meticulously cared garden,
Chris.
The rows of small trees on the background, side of the taller trees frame well the whole ground which also in many tones of green.
Have a nice weekend,
Ike

Hello Chris!
Archaeological digs would only reveal some drunk vikings and gravad lax, I'm afraid...
But never before saw topiary in Sweden, supposing the Swedes to be too sober for that.
Fine light.

Hello Chris,
I haven't been here, and I wouldn't expect to find any former kings buried in, or even under, these bushes. You would have to go to the large mounds at Old Uppsala for that. But it's a nice garden and we get a good view of it here.
You made a slight mistake with Gustav Vasa. There should be no 'III' after his name. He was the first king named Gustav.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Chris, funny title for this pic from Sweden, the cut of trees is surely ispired by Egypt's pyramids, maybe of one of the most easy way to create an artework with trees, great capture for a lovely and original surprise. Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hello Chris,
I do remember Uppsala Castle but apparently I have forgotten this garden.
Beautiful with the numerous small pyramids.
However, they're far too green to have anything to do with Egypt.
The difference in level in the garden allowed you to make a nice overview.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Chris,
I don't think it has taken anyone any length of time to come to a decision about your question! I imagine these will not have the longevity of the Egyptian pyramids though it's easy to understand why they would have been chosen as interesting decorative features for a garden!
It is a very attractive garden, on a grand scale and with the formality shown in Egypt. The figures, in the f/g and the b/g, help us to assess the scale.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Chris.
A good POV of this beautiful garden that is very original with those shrubs trimmed in the shape of a pyramid, also the different shapes of the trees contribute to its originality.
Magnificent composition and color.
Well done. I love the photo.
Have a good start to the week.
Very best regards.
Luis.

chris
I saw many of these shrubs in different shapes, but never in pyramid format. this remind me a cemetery in punta arenas (chile)with lots of big trimmed cypresses.
take care
