A child is happily speeding down a hill in Slottsskogen (Castle Forest) in Gothenburg on a pulk. This vehicle is called pulka in Swedish. The word is borrowed from Finnish, where it is called pulkka. The Finns have borrowed the word from the Sami language, where it is called puhlke.

Hi Gunnar,
Interesting etymology of the word. I do not know how it is in Polish, sanki is the word but rather for wooden sledge. Anyway, the joy nof the kid is well caught. I am not so happy with the snow when I have to shovel.

Hi Gunnar,
I have just driven in the most terrible snow conditions so I am glad to see a picture with someone enjoying the snow! Absolute joy shown in this child's face. The snow looks too blue on my main monitor but when I moved it my other monitor it was much less blue and absolutely fine. Ummm - I have asked Santa Claus for a new, high specification monitor!! Not sure whether he has taken the hint.
Nice simple composition.
