Svenska Akademien

In this building, Olga Tokarczuk delivered her Nobel Lecture in Literature on Saturday 7 December 2019. Today she received the Nobel Prize.

Polish author Olga Tokarczuk and Austria's Peter Handke have been awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. Two winners were named - one for 2019 and one for 2018 - because the prize was not awarded last year.

Tokarczuk was rewarded "for a narrative imagination that with encyclopaedic passion represents the crossing of boundaries as a form of life".

The author is a Polish best-seller whose books blend the real with the mystical. A political activist who does not shy away from criticising Poland's right-wing government, she has become the 15th female winner of the Nobel Prize out of 116 literature laureates.
I am happy.

Zdjecie jak znalzl na dzisiejsza okazje wreczania nagrod.
Milo dzisiaj bylo popatrzec a przedewszystkim posluchac naszej noblistki.

Ja też byłam wczoraj dumna, wzruszona i szczęśliwa. Ten jej wykład był fantastyczny. Dobre zdjecie siedziby akademii. Kiedy cztery lata temu obserwowałam w tym pałacyku ceremonię noblowską, nie przypuszczałam, ze wkrce będziemy mieć nasza noblistkęi to tak wspaniałą,

Thanks for the contributions from the Polish side: an interior view on this occasion has been published by Emka, you provide an exterior shot, and most important: the works of Olga Tokarczuk.

I must admit that I have not yet read much Polish literature, but it seems necessary to make a change.

BTW: 2019 laureate Peter Handke should change his attitude towards the Serbs, as denying their atrocities in the Balcans war simply is not feasible.

Hello Piotr,
You timed this photo well. You were just a few hours late after Ms Tokarczuk received the award, but just in time to capture these tourists outside the museum. It's as usual a well cropped and neat photo. I was happy that Olga Tokarczuk was awarded the Nobel Prize. I "discovered" her a couple of years ago and have read and enjoyed the seven books that have been translated to Swedish. She is a very good writer.

Piotr, that old building of cultural importance has a remarkable facade. Columns, arches and beautiful windows highlight the museum. The people animate the scene. Fine colors, good sharpness, instructive photo note, regards.

Ja tez sie ciesze. :-) Nawet kupilam dwie ksiazki.
Bardzo odpowiednie do okazji zdjecie, akurat tego budynku, w ktorym odbywa sie ceremonia.
Sama fotka - bardzo ladna symetria i fajnie ujeta grupka ludzi.

I guess the nobel of literature lost its meaning when a singer was prized. in the other way I guess portuguese language and its authors were ever neglected. nice view of the building of the famous prize.

Czesc Piotr,
bardzo kontrowersyjna nagroda ale masz racje nalezy sie cieszyc.
Widzialem miedzy innymi na palacu prezydenckim w Warszawie piekna iluminacje z podobizna laureatki.
W ubiegla sobote mialem pogadanke dla dzieci w szkole i z duma opowiadalem o pierwszej kobiecie ktora dostala Nobla i zarazem o jedynej osobie ktora dostala Nobla w dwoch roznych dziedzinach nauki.
Mialem zreszta zaszczyt robic swoj doktorat na wydziale kierowanym przez Nobliste w Monachium.
Jestem osobiscie zachwycony poprzednia polska laureatka Szymborska, mam tomik jej wierszy ze soba na obczyznie :)
Niestety po tym jak Obama dostal te nagrode na poczatku swojej kadencji a wiec "na zachete"... no coz, podobnie jak Jorge, mam wrazenie ze teraz sluzy ona raczej do poklepywania po plecach tych ktorych komitet pochwala.

Tak czy owak bez wzgledu na okolicznosci ciesze sie ze rodaczka odniosla sukces!

Piekna ilustracja dla tego wydarzenia!
