Before the storm, a photo from Geneva, West

Photographer's Note

On the lake of Geneva, we can also have violent storms.
Here it was just before one of them, and the sailing boats were all in the port, making a ballet of forms and sounds.
As I can here only show you the forms...I let play your imagination for the sounds ;o)

Wonderful graphic shot. The dark tones show the coming storm very well. Just including the top of the masts is a great idea.

Euh, il faut 黎re un peu plus constructif? Bon, ben j'adore le c� abstrait des mats oppos駸 au concret des nuages, les lignes verticales et sombres en opposition aux formes rondes, la lumi鑽e magique, les N&B profonds, le format allong�, les lignes diagonales form馥s par les hauts des mats, bien s皞 le sujet qui 騅oque la mer!
J'entend les bruits et je sens le vent... Une photo pleine de sensations. Merci!

It's a distinctive Cool-ice photo - a highly-contrasted and very graphical piece that is truly inspiring to watch. The b&w actually enhances the drama of the clouds building up behind the masts of the boats. Very good work, well done.

I find it very powerful shot because of the skies ,the clouds and the B&W color choice .

I like the choice of B&W here and the simple composition. You really have got the eye for graphical shapes and forms!
The dramatic sky makes a perfect background to this shot. Beautiful light.

Je le connais bien le bruit du vent dans les mats lorsqu'on se balade le long des quais un jour de bise... et en regardant ta photo, je n'ai aucune peine � l'imaginer!
J'aime beaucoup ces lignes verticales et les gros nuages en arri鑽e-plan.
Peut 黎re nous croiserons nous, un jour appareil photo � la main, au bord du lac.

avec un peu de retard je d馗ouvre cette photo !
effet dramatique assur� ! c'est tr鑚 bien d'avoir laisser la part belle � l'imagination, surtout dans ce contexte de fin du monde. C'est le calme avant la temp黎e, les vagues vont tout d騅aster...
beau n&b et la compo est r騏ssie, sans sym騁rie et en sugg駻ant une profondeur de champ.
j'aime beaucoup

Fascinating shot Yves,

Reminds me of a burnt forest, how the trees stand so straight and narrow- naked of any foliage. Very interesting composition to capture this storm. Well seen!
