Ukrainian Freedom Avenue, a photo from Lvivska, West

Photographer's Note

I have recently presented the monument of the Ukrainian poet, Taras Shevchenko, along the Freedom Avenue (проспект Свободи) in Lviv. I thought that was the best angle to focus on the statue of the poet.
In the background you could see the back of the Church of the Most Holy Apostles Peter and Paul:

However, you could compose the fragments of this monument against other attractive structures in the city. For example Fis2 has captured it together with the Latin Cathedral of Lviv:

With this photo here, I decided to upload one more angle at this interesting monument. This time I am using it as a foreground for the white tower of the Lviv Town Hall.

This is most likely to be the last photo from my trip to Lviv in Ukraine on TrekEarth.
However, you will probably still hear me talking about the terrible, unprovoked and senseless war which Russia started in Ukraine.
It is not something we thought we will experience in the middle of Europe in the 21st century.
The outcome of the war is still uncertain but what we know for sure at this stage is that for many many years now nobody in the western world will trust Russia again.
What Russia achieved so far is that nobody will ever think about it as a modern civilized country again.

A different POV to the monument, much better angle in my opinion, humbly said.
A fine view with the white clock tower, enliven by people near by, the whole brightly enhanced by summer light.

Hello Mariusz, a good point of view that shows the beautiful curved shape of the monument. The people are an excellent guide to the scale of the piece.
The white tower balances the composition very nicely.

I agree with you and i really hate
the war and my personal opinion is
that for many many years in the
future nobody in the western world
will tryst Russia again.....
I liked your last phrase too as
following....what russia achieved so far is

Hello Mariusz,

This maybe a better composition that the one you presented previously for the two verticals are nicely interacting. The people begin the journey, then the curved slope of the memorial (beautifully textured) guides gently towards the tall, white tower of the town hall.
It perfectly suits the vertical format.

Hello Mariusz,
Putin of Russia, Xi of China, and Erdoğan of Turkey are dangerous men. Let us hope the West deals appropriately with Putin that the other two don't get any ideas.
