Photographer's Note

The only day of snow this winter in Bristol. Because of the climate here, even when most of the rest of the country is at a standstill under inches of snow, Bristol will stay snow-free. Most likely it'll be raining, but not snowing.

This walkway is beautiful at many times of year, and having lived here for so long, admiring the beauty of a walk through a graveyard doesn't seem so strange. The drop at the end of the walkway is due to the fact that this walkway is near the top of Clifton which, like its name suggests, is quite high up, giving a view over the south-west of Bristol down to hotwells.

What seems strange to me about the covering vines is that they appear to have new-growth rather than the remains of the old year's leaves, making the shot look like early spring rather than early winter!

Looking into the sun, so the polariser isn't helping with the glare, but the detail is good in the darker parts of the picture, so not a waste of time. Circular polariser at about 45 degrees to retain some reflections on the wet ground.
