Photographer's Note

I first posted this photo three months ago after I had just found this site.
I've re-posted it at 800 pixels, and also done some PP work on it - adjusted curves, levels, colour balance, and applied USM. I hardly knew how to do these things when I first posted, so thanks to all here for improving my skills.
Here's to the next three months!

First class image. Capturing the effect of sunlight on mist must be one of the most difficult things to do, in my opinion. You have done it superbly well. I like the low key approach with very muted colours. Lovely composition.

Ah larger is better in this case! I really like the improved version and I think also the larger size makes the effect of the photo stronger. It looks better than any created film set could have done! Great shot!

A stunningly beautiful composition - up there with all those world beating misty atmospheric shots from Vietnam and China - great PP - the way the house is slowly revealed from the mist is just fantastic - it really draws you in - great detail!

enjoyed reading your Adam's quote - it seems very appropriat to have then come to this image first.

This is a amazing picture.
The fog have the effect of silence and loneliness.
I like the small way in the front, which is going out of the fog, as a symbol of civilisation.

Inspirational. I've occasionally seen shots like this whilst driving. If only I kept a camera with me all the time.
