Portsmouth is a vibrant city with a University right in the centre. There are many bars and nightclubs, and every Friday and Saturday night the city comes alive with young people out to have fun, drink, and dance the night away.

Here we have The Bouncer. While her smiling face suggests that butter wouldn't melt in her mouth, be under no illusion... Here to safeguard the merry revelers, and throw out the unruly. Mess around and cause trouble and she will make you into mincemeat!

Note - this is an unposed photo - shot from the hip whilst walking speedily past her. I was just lucky that she was looking straight at me :-)

It's almost hard to believe that this is a candid shot of sorts - your subject's pose and the expression on her face are perfect.
High contrast black and white medium evokes the atmosphere of a night club really well.
