Photographer's Note
Reflections of the Past
In this strange, weird new world that is called the 1.5 m society in the Netherlands, it is no longer possible to take photos in distant countries. We can only supplement our archive (at least if we are allowed to take a walk nearby) of photos from our own environment or we have to draw from our archive.
A second drawback is that we cannot have real life encounters with our TE friends.
Very unfortunate, but of course our health is paramount.
Our motto could be: "Fortunately we still have the pictures." and we can search our archive for forgotten gems.
Hence these Reflections of the Past. Three photos taken at a TE meeting in Manchester last year with Bev, Len and Claude.
A perfect day with wonderful company and a challenging environment. Only the weather could have been better.

Hi Rob,
Yes, it is a special situation around the world account of the COVID-19. All group activities are not allowed and a minimum distance must be respected when you are in public. The old photos from my archives are used to display on TE and FB. The point of view is showing the reflections on the windows of a daily life scene. Well done, have a nice day.

Hello Rob,
An idea that was well executed, I can see our fiends and yourself on street action.
Nowadays, as already wrote, we can enjoy our immediate neighborhoods, discovering beautiful places without traveling to far places.
Good afternoon,
Ike

Hello Rob,
Your main photograph has an amazing number of different images for a reflection!
Of course the bright orange images are from the inside of the Lowry, so we can see inside and outside.
It was a good meeting, despite the weather, with a host of different subjects to photograph.
The lock in portrait looks very dour!
I'm sure that this is not a frequent mood, despite the troubles!
Take care and keep safe,
Bev :-)

Hello Rob,
Three highly original and eye-catching photos. You successfully combined people's reflections with slightly bizarre colours. You made the right choice for main post, and your rather discreet selfie should be forgiven. In the WS you look like you have your portrait on a huge billboard that could be seen from far away. The effect is quite amusing. I am also rather fond of the #3. In B&W it could have been a scene from an English spy movie from the 1950's. You made a superb observation.
Best regards, and please stay healthy.

Dag Rob,
Erg mooi wat de ruiten doen met de kleuren van dit levendige alledaagse tafereel. De oranje elementen in alle hoeken komen goed uit.
Groet, Gerrit

Seems like you had an interesting meeting last year, perhaps next year again.........
but in the meantime you note gives food for thought,

Hello Rob,
There are lots of nice colors and details in these reflections. I also found you right away. :-) These modern windows are also interesting, with a bit of tilt. I hope you're doing well. Take good care!

Dag Rob,

Hello Rob,
Three utterly delightful photographs from your TE meeting in Manchester last year, each one stamped with your amazing ability to use your eyes vastly more proficiently than most of us!
All are excellent pictures but I must prefer your main one, partly because I believe I can recognise at least two other people than yourself but also because there is so much to look at and examine throughout the frame as well as so many different reflections.
Brilliant!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Rob, We live in a very weird world now, something we could not imagine only a few months ago. But still, we have our photos and we can share the memories with our friends.
I love TE meetings, it is quite a long time that I haven't met anyone. So, such scenes like this are a great gift for me. In the main picture, I recognize a lady in red, and two guys, even if I haven't seen them in person. An original idea and excellent realization.
Stay healthy. We must wait patiently for the better, normal time. Nothing can be done.
Regards MAlgo

Hi Rob
glad you liked my father and son photo, and thanks for the kind words :) and of course we can see you here in red :) cool to see the images on the glass being blurred, especially the blue car top left...its as if its moving, or it has 2 or 3 overlapping cars around it, very cool. Nice shot
cheers
