Photographer's Note
The first photo of the Fountains Abbey which I showed you a couple of days ago, probably made you think that it is just one of numerous average abbeys which were devastated in England in a consequence of Henry VIII Brexit. But believe me, it is not just any abbey. This is already my fourth photo from this magical place but I feel I cannot really show the beauty of this place. I strongly recommend you to go and see it yourself if you only get a chance.
I have spent there most of a day. The light has changed so much during the day and it reached various areas of the ruins. This window was nicely lit by the evening sun.
HERE you can see all photos of Fountains Abbey which I uploaded to TrekEarth so far.
Fountains Abbey was founded in 1132, operated for over 400 years, until 1539, when Henry VIII ordered the Dissolution of the Monasteries. It is one of the largest and best preserved ruined Cistercian monasteries in England. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Hello Mariusz,
The light was really amazing here, so bright and clear and it goes really well with the warm and light tones of the walls. The arch provides a great frame for the tower in the background. Great work!

Czesc Mariusz!
Good use of the fg arch as a framing device. Excellent sharpness with good textures in the weathered old stonework. The blue sky contrasts well with the warm tones of the arch. Tfs!

Hi Mariusz
that tower in the bg looks to be SO well intact, almost as if its in the process of being Constructed today and its almost completed :) It gives us an excellent idea of how this placed looked in its prime. Good for you to stay for long hours, capturing the light as it moves all around the Ruin. another cool and interesting shot! cheers

On tente tous un jour ou l'autre ce genre de photo en utilisant une arche comme cadre et ma foi c'est toujours aussi int駻essant et le charme fonctionne.

Hello Mariusz,
An old gate with very old white stone, but pleasant to look at.
Also the look through makes your picture attractive.
An excellent composition and perfect presentation.
Sharpness and clarity are superb.
Very well done, TFS.

Hello Mariusz, I totally agree with you about Fountains Abbey, such a unique place, and definitely not an average ruin!
I have visited on many occasions, and really appreciate your shots.
I like the way that you are finding original points of view to give a real taste and impression of just how fantastic a place it is.
Here, the close view of the stone, in just as sharp focus as the tower that we view through the arch.
Excellent work.
Regards Jean.

Hello Mariusz,
You gave the abbey an artistic approach on the photo.
DOF immaculately collected, with neat and distinct details, and a small part of the blue sky "envelope" the tower.
My best regards,
Ike

Mariusz, good use of the arch as a window to frame the ruin in the bg. These old walls have a lot of charm. This Unesco site should be fascinating to visit. Fine colors, good image quality and excellent golden light, regards.

Hi Mariusz
A pleasantly exposed shot and I really like the 'far and near' aspect of this. Seeing fraction of the whole capture is enchanting you have really caught so much detail and how the 'door' leads to what's beyond. Excellent shot
Best regards

Hello Mariusz,
Excellently composed picture of the ruins of Fountains Abbey.
There's something specially beautiful on the stones of the window on the foreground.
I guess the light made their colour look so beautiful.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Mariusz.
Sensational composition with this arch that presents a great graphics with its worn stone and beautifully frames the tower, partly demolished, as well as the wall, but the whole is fascinating.
Very effective color, which highlights the details of the image.
A good management, both of the luminosity, as of the sharpness.
Very well done. I like it.
Enjoy the weekend.
My best wishes for you.
