Photographer's Note
Arthur's Seat is a hill right in the middle of the City of Edinburgh and seen to the south are the Pentland Hills. The lines on the hill in the background are the artificial ski slopes at Hillend.
The towers behind the folk are part of the Observatory at Blackford Hill (another of the seven hills of Edinburgh).
The area in the photo is part of the crater of an extinct volcano. A fantastic area geologically, with volcanics, sandstones, limestones etc. all fairly close.

Alastair,
Nice landscape photo with a very informative note. The lighting and color are great with nice sharpness and detail.
