Photographer's Note
This is a monument paying homage to soldiers who died and fought in the two big wars. Curiously the artist choose a soldier between many of them to be the model, he is presented in the lower part of the column dressed as a sailor, a soldier and an aviator while in the top of the column he is presented as an angel representing those who died.

Esse � um monumento prestando homenagem aos soldados que lutaram nas duas grandes guerras. Curiosamente o artista escolheu num batalh縊 um dos militares para ser o modelo, o rapaz � representado tr黌 vezes na base da coluna, trajado como marinheiro, aviador e soldado, enquanto na parte de cima da coluna ele � mostrado como um anjo, representando os que morreram em batalha.

I don't think i've seen this one before, it grabbed my attention from the gallery page right away. Reading the note, its very interesting, a strange but creative choice of a sculpture. Glad you got the tops of the columns in the frame, they add a lot of elegance and artistic flare. cool shot

I wonder if they were naked when they came in the times of Noah as they looked from the heavens upon beautiful human women. Just a thought. Good o see you posting. A good capture of this sculpture, which is nicely surrounded by the columns. It stands out well from the lighter colours and the blue sky. Excellent sharpness too.

Hello Jorge,
The angel is well placed among the columns, slightly to the side, and it stands out well against the lighter background. The architectural details split the view into several sections which give the composition a nice rhythm.

Good density levels and where is a fig leaf when you need it, lol! This circular 'tholos' is a popular neo classical construction. The dolphins are an odd accompaniment here. There is a similar war memorial in Brisbane. Tfs! OH & I wanted to see the soldier sailor airman too:

you have found so much beauty in Cardiff. I am really positively surprised. What mattered was the great weather which adds always some color and contrast to the scene.
