Photographer's Note
Hartland is a convenient centre for walking parts of the South West Coast Path, and the wild coastal scenery around the point is some of the most dramatic on the path, with views across to Lundy Island. For over 400 years Hartland Quay has been a haven for mariners and travellers in fair weather or foul.

Hello Leslie - I presume this must be near Hartland Point? I remember spending a very windy, wet day there many years ago and loved the wild rocky coastline. Your shot shows off the ruggedness of the coast very well, the rock strata are wonderfully clear in the FG. The rock pinnacles look quite dangerous to me but I guess the locals know the way into safe harbour. An excellent shot, I much prefer the north coast and its wildness to the more gentle beaches of the south. TFS and have a good weekend. Rosemary

Hello Leslie,
Very nice landscape perfect captured.
Nice light showing the movement of the waves perfectly.
Nice rock structures in the foreground. How many millions of years those have been created ??
TFS and have a nice weekend
Best regards

Hello Leslie,
A strong compositon, action in the sharps rocks FG creating a line that takes us to the horizon. Strong details and colours.
Have a nice weekend,
Regards,
Maria

Hello Les,
The moody lighting sits well with the gaunt rocky coastline. Good light and shadow contrasts.

Hi Les
You did well and it was well worth the soaking your feet ! Like the highlights on the rocks and the combination of sky colors, the warm glow on the horizon further addx the vigor. The entire formations balance each other quite nicely & superb contrast rendered between the warm sky colours & the cool tones of the sea-foam. Just the right length of exposure, a pleasing dramatic seascape well worth the effort, Congrats, TFS.
Best regards

Hello Leslie,
A great coastal capture here. The ledges running out into the ocean and the oblique strata of the foreground rocks are well captured. I like how the lightness and detail of the cloudy sky balances against the darker more threatening foreground. Rugged and treacherous looking indeed. Thanks for sharing
