Photographer's Note
Bellever is a hamlet in Dartmoor, Devon, England.
Image taken of landcape surrounding Bellever Bridge which crosses the East Dart river in Dartmoor National Park. "Bellever Bridge lies about a mile south of Postbridge on an unclassified road which has followed the East Dart downriver. The road crosses on a three stone arch structure similar to that at Postbridge, and again immediately downstream is a Clapper Bridge."

We reached Bellever as part of the relatively short walk from Postbridge to Bellever Tor, to Bellever and back to Postbridge.

A clapper bridge is an ancient form of bridge found on the moors of Devon (Dartmoor and Exmoor) and in other upland areas of the United Kingdom including Snowdonia and Anglesey. It is formed by large flat slabs of granite or schist supported on stone piers (across rivers), or resting on the banks of streams.

Hi Trevor
a painting like shot this, with a real touch of old master about it. Superbly composed and executed, and a shot that should be on a calendar for the month of June. Not sure if the bridge would be even be visible today, with huge swathes of southern England under water.

Hello Trevor,
This is a wonderful picture. Although several details tell us this is a recent photo my general impression is that this view must have looked pretty much the same for a very long time. I am sure I could find a 19th century painting reminding me of this kind of scenery at the National Gallery. It's not just the general view that I love, but every inch is filled with fine details.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Trevor
I'm very familiar with this area in general and this place in particular, as my parents moved down there when they retired. I wonder if you found the Warren House Inn near Postbridge: all on its own in the middle of the moor, with 2 log fires going all year.
This is a delightful photograph of the Dart in Summer: woolly clouds, picnickers and the old stone bridge. When I say it makes a good postcard, please take that as a compliment!
Regards
Will

Devon is a beautiful county and your shot shows off some of its charms Trevor . The rolling hills, pretty little river and stone bridge are typical of the area. I like the inclusion of the people in this shot as the confirm the attractiveness of the place for restful relaxation. Gorgeous colours, a lovely sky and some fine trees make this a very enjoyable shot to view. Happy New Year to you. Rosemary

Hello Trevor,
A beautiful capture of an idyllic summer day in southwestern England. The scene is perfectly composed and has many elements of interest: the bridge, the stream and the pebbles inside it, the road and the steps leading up to it, the persons enjoy the fine weather, the trees on the hill, the lines of the fields and the little row of houses off in the distance. All the while, the image does not seem cluttered nor contrived. Congrats!
Best wishes,
Caleb
