Photographer's Note
REFLECTING ON BUXTON....
Another photograph taken in Buxton, Derbyshire, during a lovely little TE meeting there arranged by Will (willperrett). This photograph was taken very close to my last one, just outside Buxton's Opera House and parked outside it was a little tour 'bus.
We didn't travel on the tour 'bus but quite a few of us decided to take advantage of the shiny reflections in the windscreen of the little vehicle. On the far right of this picture you can see the front of the Opera House with the figure of Will, complete with camera, and through the windows of the 'bus you can see the remainder of the front canopy of the building.
Then, in the reflection in the windscreen, Bev (Royaldevon) dressed in mauve top with camera and, at left, the very attractive arched colonnade walkway of "The Square", a series of six grand Georgian town houses designed by architect John White and constructed from 1803 to 1806 for William Cavendish, 5th Duke of Devonshire.
I fully realise that others like Rob and Lars are the true experts in photographing reflections, but when I found this in my archives, I just couldn't resist the temptation of posting it!
Please have a look in the workshop for two more photos of this little electric tour 'bus.

Hello dear John,
Nice original capture from Buxton. We still see the parts of this delightful Opera House, but here we have a look at the lady in mauve as well:). There were quite many people in this TE Meeting. Fascinating composition.

Hello John,
This is an amusing photo where you managed to include two TE members without taking formal portraits. A more conventional photo of Bev is of course seen in the WS, while Will is kept at a more discreet distance. The main photo is an interesting combination of "real" view, see-through and reflections.
Kind regards,
Gert
PS Even my Oxford Advanced Learner's Dictionary of Current English, printed in 1978, accepts bus as a normal, modern word. It doesn't mention 'bus. ;-)

Hello John,
I do remember this bus, and the quirky driver, which was parked outside the Opera House. I think most of us were attracted by the reflections, the sun doing its bit for the first time! I'm not sure anyone got a better shot than this!
The reflections of the Opera House complement the reality perfectly and I love how you have included just enough bus details, to show exactly where the reflections were captured.
The photograph has excellent clarity with rich natural colours.
I didn't remember you taking the photograph of me but thanks for including it. It was a reminder of my previous fashion wardrobe; apart from the shoes all those other items of clothing have been passed on or sent to the charity shop!
Have a lovely day and keep safe,
Bev :-)

Hi John
So you have time to look back in your archives and propose us a double exposure with the red electric bus and the reflection in the windows to discover the city and the tourists....
I have posted a picture of that bus http://fr.trekearth.com/gallery/Europe/United_Kingdom/England/Derbyshire/Buxton/photo1464581.htm
When will toy ba allowed to leave your home?
Best regards

Hello John,
*** I am sending you this evening my text (private) that was refused by TE on the basis of words that were not good vocabulary.
My English is not so good that I cannot find the error. ***
John,
But here I can find the photographer in the window of the bus.
An excellent captured with nice reflections.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hello John, viewing your main post I never imagined the small bus that we see in the w/s pictures.
You did really well to capture the reflections, it's a bit of a puzzle trying to work out just what is what.
You said previously that the weather hadn't been good, but obviously you had sunshine for this shot, hence the lovely reflections.
Three interesting shots.
Thanks for sharing, kind regards, Jean.

Hello John,
A wonderful reflection photo, very well spotted in the large windscreen of the bus. The colours are really well-saturated and attractive, most of all the bright green of the trees and the red of the bus. There is a lot to see, including a part of the entrance of the opera house. You were clearly not the only photographer who was attracted to this very artistic view. Very well spotted and captured.

Hello John,
Thank you for the honourable mention of my reflection photography, but this beautiful photo shows that you are not inferior to that.
The advantage of the windshield of buses is the often curved shape that gives beautiful deformations.
Bev can be clearly recognized here by her specific photo pose and her hairstyle.
Furthermore, it is a wonderful search image on which there is much to enjoy.
Excellent work
Have a nice day, groet Rob

Hi John,
brilliant reflection indeed! The colors are so pleasantly saturated! The result is a very eye catching amalgam of the real and reflected world. As a bonus we can spot in there a familiar photographer in the purple jacket.
Very cheerful multitude of colors. I like such busy and occasionally disorientating scenes.
Excellent capture!!

Hi John
great to see Bev in the WS :)
I miss you guys.
the reflections are so good, and I especially like how the lady in the blue jacket is walking the same direction as the two men on the far right, so it's as if she's REALLY walking along side them..but of course its a reflection - so cool :) as an added bonus I like the windshield wiper :) what do you call it in the UK? cheers

Hi John.
These three great photos with the tourist mini bus, I'm glad to see our friend Bev in them, in this main one capturing the photo, you see a very original fantasy with all those reflections on the front glass.
It is true Lars and Rob have formidable reflections on their travels through America.
Very nice color, which together with good sharpness and optimal lighting, gives great quality to the image.
Well done. I like very much
You have a good day.
Very best regards
Luis
