Photographer's Note
A different view of Newlyn Harbour.
The sad sight of a fishing vessel moored in the harbour, with no signs of it ever being used again.
"The 'Sara Shaun' was originally 'Ebenezer' when it was built in 1960, before it was renamed by Billy Stevenson in 1969.
Becoming PZ123, the 'Sara Shaun', after Billy's daughter and nephew. The beam trawler, presumably, worked out of Penzance and Newlyn."
The tide was out, hence the boat standing clear of the water.
Thanks for looking.

Hi Jean,
nice composition the stranded boat. There seem to be two levels of the floor in the harbour. This boat got stuck on the upper shelf.
Charming coastal town with many photo opportunities.
Very well seen and captured,
M

Hello Jean,
From here it just looks like the boat was stranded by low tide, ready to be back in business when the water returned. But your close inspection may have revealed that she was not at all seaworthy and could become a permanent feature here. She would make quite a monument, and maybe she already is one of Newlyn's landmarks. It's a slightly odd photo, but it's well composed and the light and soft colours are pleasant.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Jean,
You chose a nice angle along the boat with a sight on the harbor.
The different boats and village in background cares for a nice composition.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,
John.

Hi Jean
Belo registro destes barcos na mar baixa. Eu gostei do angulo que nos permite ver tamb駑 a marina e parte da cidade no alto direita.

Hello Jean,
The old moored hulk at left makes a sad focal point. Good timing to shoot at low tide so we can see there is no apparent damage from the plimsoll line down. The harbour is not somewhere I would recommend swimming. Especially with so many top class beaches in Cornwall close by. Good sharpness and diffused light. Tfs!

A classic Cornish low tide photo. I saw quite a few of such places. Good detail and sharpness in the large view.

Hello Jean, It is sad but everything has its end. There is nostalgia in this photo and the note for it. Nice view of the harbour. You found some details about the story of this abandoned fishing boat.
Have a nice sunday

Hello Jean,
I thought this was Looe, at first!
Stranded boats carry a lot of emotion!
We understand what drama they will have endured and even moored against the wall, this one has character! Without water, it seems symbolically stranded!
It doesn't look in bad condition! Maybe it will sail again!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Jean,
A good photo of the harbour at low tide, but also in a fine light, which you captured well. The composition is very good and nicely balanced.

Hello Jean,
An odd view with the two different water levels in the harbour.
Maybe this boat can still sail at high tide?
Best regards, Paul

I presume the owners have commercial intentions with it some day.ruins and abandoned objects are ever sad, telling us an old lost history. excellent view showing the port and the boat.
