Photographer's Note
Good Morning Everyone,
This is my second post from the Spa Trail, in Lincolnshire.
It is quite a surprise to be walking along a country trail, created from a previous railway track, and come upon a sculpture, like this!
My post shows metal sheep about to cross the trail!
The sculpture of 'Lincolnshire Longwool Sheep' was created by artist Sally Matthewsin 2008. They are created from various pieces of metal and are very lifelike!
I have a desire to go back and investigate further ... along with the list of other places I have on my bucket list!
Thank you for your interest, Bev :-)
p.s. It's bucketing down again! A short walk up the road found my clothes soaked!)

Hello Bev
I always found a hot chocolate was welcome on a cold, wet or snowy day. Terrific sculptures of the rusty sheep with good lighting and sharpness. Tfs!

Hello Bev,
Seeing the thumbnail I noted you had met nice brown sheep, but they looked very hairy. I had forgotten about the art along the Spa Trail, so I was nicely reminded when opening the photo. The artist had a great idea and made a good job, and this is a very nice and well taken photo.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello Beverley, a lovely use of the materials to create these woolly sheep.
I have seen other arty representations of sheep in the past but I think that these are probably the best that I have seen.
I like their poses.
Good setting surrounded by all the green.
Kind regards. Jean.

An art elements most probably done in memory of someone's favorite sheep...
The brown/rusty iron sculptures placed well against the green vegetation around with bright light enable good contrast.
Good afternoon,

Hi Bev,
This is an original subject. The point of view is showing the details of the sculptures in the shape of sheep. The light is giving nice tints to the colors of the picture. Have a nice day.

Hello Beverley,
I think you have to be a very strong person to wear a wool sweater from this kind of sheep.
Or imagine wool socks.
Great idea and very nicely executed.
What would such a lamb look like?
Best regards, Paul

Hi Bev,
I would title it "emerging new variant". This would go well with the news headlines about the new virus variants.
Charming idea although a bit surprising because there are a lot of real sheep around.
Nice presentation.
We have no rain again but the weather is not pleasant neither.
Although I think the pavements are wet so maybe I just didn't notice it was raining...
Very well done,
M

Hello Bev,
Sheep made with old metal but with a nice result.
Middle of the green area, see we the variety of sheep.
By good weather a lovely place to make a good stroll.
Lovely composition, also a nice presentation after your wet clothing.
Very well done, TFS.
With a warmest regards,
John.

Hello Beverley,
A surprising encounter in this landscape, but the sculptures of these metal sheep look really cool and their brown colours make them stand out well from the green surroundings. Well captured with a good composition.

Hi Bev,
Those sheep are hard and heavy! Very well created sculptures. It is fun to see them in the field, and good to see them both.

Dear Beverley,
When I saw them in the thumbnail size, I thought they were ugly as hell. :D After I read your notes I understand why. And now, I understand that they are a piece of art each!
Nicely photographed scene by the way.
Best Wishes,
GY.

Hi Bev
Another good one on this unusual sculpture walk. A great pair of sheep. Stay dry - we've just had 2 sunny days in a row which is unusual this summer of rain almost every day.
cheers

Hello Bev,
This is indeed very 'odd' variety of sheep.
Even I don't see their eyes ... I feel like they're staring at me , warning me not to come any closer !!!
These sheep are as strong as metal ... I would dare to provoke them. That's show ... how realistic they can be :-)
The one behind ... do look-like a cross between a sheep and a kangaroo. It's a pity you've missed another one :-(
I do like this 'Spa Trail' sounds very interesting and full of surprises.
More importantly, these sculptures are in the countryside , coexist with nature. Simply wonderful !
Thanks for sharing these new species of sheep.

Hi Bev
Wow, indeed, these creatures look very real at first glance (and definitely so in thumbnail format!). It almost makes me wonder if they will still be there when you visit next as they may just walk away. ;-) They were photographed at their best, surrounded by vivid greens.
Wishing you dry weather soon!
Kasia

Hello Beverly,
Oh, that must be the type of sheep whose wool is used for making chain mail armor. Funny, I expected them to be silver in color. They must dye the wool before they use it.
Regards,
MT
