Photographer's Note

A skateboarder doing a big-spin, South-Bank, London.
I grew up buying these "SK8" magazines and spent hours at breakfast looking at the photos. I like skate photos. They are usually quite good.
I cut the head of this guy, maybe a subconscious revenge on the fact that I've always been bad at skateboarding... ;-)

very good picture, I like the mood here and cought moment, very interesting place, colours in the background and two mates on the bikes, very good capture- like from movie, very interesting work, well done

magnifique photo, super nette malgr� le mouvement du skateur.
Les graphitis au fond donne beaucoup de couleurs et rende le lieu tr鑚 vivant.

Great photo Nicolas. The subtle blur of the main subject is crucial here. One can perfectly see who he is, but also feel the movement. That's very important here. I love your dof choice. Offering us the ability to see this beautiful urban set in all its glory was indeed the right move. The darkness enveloping the colorful rectangle on the background is super! Like this one very much.

This is a very nice action and speed shot Nicolas. Very nice facial expression of the man too. And more than anything else, I like just how you frame it so well with that nice and (not distracting) background, while the subject is placed at the right angle of photographic quality. Well exposed too, and we can see clearly the details of the man. Finally, it is a very nice wide angle shot. Well done.

PS: I dont see that the head of the guy is a problem. We focus our attention on his action only, and that is the main point.

Great action shot, you may have been bad at skateboarding, but you are definitely able to capture the action. Very good use of lighting here also, with the skateboarder sharp and bright, and the darker BG. I can see why you choose this subject as I also visited a park here in St.John's, and could not resist a few pics, and posted this one Fearless, 7 Year Old

Hi Nicolas,
A great shot, full of dynamism. The framing is excellent, capturing the main subject in the right corner but keeping some space for the background that it is quite colorful and visually attractive. Good work!
