Shetland seascapes (IV), a photo from Shetland Islands, Scotland

Photographer's Note

Another cliff view in the Shetlands, most probably taken in the same place as yesterday's postings, but with a few steps back.
I am sure the 50/50 composition will be criticized, but at that time, not being interested in photography and knowing nothing about its rules, I used to take pictures the way I liked them.

PS: no workshop tonight, I think I will post these last seacapes alone since they are all different.

Beautiful land ans seascape with the famous Shetlands and the sea forming a nice diagonal thru your photo. Some might think the opposite but your choice to center the horizon line, IMO, balanced well youur composition on this one. Also neither of the elements has such an importance here that you should uncenter the horizon line to enhance it, by the opposite, their combination makes this photo look very nice and so I agree with your choice of composition.

Bonjour Emmanuel;
une photo qui manque un peu de d馭inition ou de nettet�, mais en revanche, l'ambiance maritime est bien rendue, les lumi鑽es de l'instant bien restitu馥s.
Un POV qui donne beaucoup de profondeur avec ces falaises � l'arri鑽e plan.

J'aime beaucoup.

The harshness of the Shetland Islands make this picture so attractive, but at the same time a little bit romantic through the fantastic wide view about the cliffs coast, very nice composition too.

Les couleurs sont douces et j'aime bien. Le paysage est magnifique. D'un c�,la mer et de l'autre le continent. Le ciel est r馮ulier et discret. J'aime le point de vue. Bravo!

J'aimes beaucoup cette s駻ie car je trouves que tu as r騏ssi � obtenir � chaque fois des tonalit駸 tr鑚 douces, presque oldies qui apportent un charme qui correspond � mon sens parfaitement aux lieux que tu as photographi�..
La composition est tr鑚 bonne, j'aurais juste bien ajouter quelques moutons au premier plan.

no more a step back et tu es dans la mer tout est bien comme cela ambiance et cadrage "all ok"
Tu me donnerais meme envie de passer par l� c'est le genre de paysage que j aime (et de Pays aussi)
une promenade � faire seul avec son fid鑞e bon chien
(ici mon bon irish setter qui serait presque chez lui!)

Another great view over the rough cliffs and rocks along the coast of the Shetlands. I find here the cloudy sky also very beautiful. Well composed too. Well done!

Hi Emmanuel,

The color palette here is tremendous .. the powerful feeling of the sea against these endless cliffs is wonderful .. From my background in music I think of the "rule of thirds" and "the golden mean" in terms of dramatic tension .. moving to a centered focus for me creates an almost ritualistic very meditative arch like feel .. that I often find appropriate .. that said : ) Here I think if you crop some of that sky it will amplify this sea scape .. beautiful image of a stunning place .. very nice ..
