Photographer's Note
Ingleborough is the furthest peak.
PP - Nik Bi-colour filter, polariser & contrast.
From the net.
'At 2,373 ft, Ingleborough, with its famous flat topped profile, is perhaps best known of the Yorkshire Dales' famous "Three Peaks" (the other two being Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent).
The distinctive shape of Ingleborough is due to the local geology, a broad cap of millstone grit atop a broader plateau of carboniferous limestone. Streams running off the millstone grit meet limestone rock further down the slopes where they disappear underground, falling into deep potholes and caverns such as those at Gaping Gill on the moors above Clapham and Alum Pot near Selside in Ribblesdale'.

Hello
Well I wouldn't have guessed this was England. I like your treatment of it, though it must have been quite beautiful anyway. It is often surprising to me how others approach photography, I never think of using a filter, except to warm in Ph'shop maybe, this shot proves how rewarding they can be.

Outstanding shot! The colour combination is really brilliant in this. What it reminds me of is the type of colour that you can see in paintings by Turner (this is a very high compliment from me, as he is probably my favourite painter). It's a bit of a disgrace that this doesn't have more critiques considering the quality. Beautiful work Stephen, and Merry Christmas!

Hi Stephen - nice to bump into you near Ingleborough this morning ......I ramble around TE these days with no particular rhyme or reason so it is mostly about chance encounters!!! What a place to meet - the image is absolutely wonderful, a magical December morning!
best wishes Kev

Awesome colour combination and incredible light! I love the way the mist provides separation for the hill in front of Ingleborough.
I know the area well - I have a friend who lives in Sedbergh and is part of the loca cave and mountain rescue team. He's had me up and down all the hills and dales over the years.
Excellent work. Regards and best wishes for 2008, Paul.
