At Persian Gulf, a photo from Hormozgan, East

Photographer's Note

With every step on Kish Island one will come across a new attraction ( my related shots : 1 , 2 ). The nature, the beautiful shores and vegetation create a floating panorama of colors against the azure waters of the Persian Gulf.

One indication of tropical and humid regions is the existence of palm-trees, which is one of main features of the southern parts of Iran.
History indicates that there were numerous large palm groves on the Island. But not many of them are left at present. However, Kish Forest Zone Organization has undertaken to revive them. Tolou-e Kish Palm Grove is an example of such an attempt in the eastern part of the Island, near Marjan Complex. The area of the grove is 15 hectares and the saplings were planted in 1991. Many of these palm-trees have come to fruition creating a pleasant sight.

The coral beaches of Kish sparkle in the sunlight. The sea water near the beach is crystal clear and one can see the bottom of the sea up to a far distance. This, of course, is due to the corals around the Island which purify the water. Relative to its area, Kish has one of the longest beach stretches; a relaxing and a peaceful place. The fish and other marine life in the coastal waters of Kish are unique. Visitors lose track of time when watching these species which are easily visible. At the same time, the best quality edible fish is caught here.
The coastal waters of Kish are among the safest in the world. There are no sharks and swimming is totally safe.

This must be a picture from paradise, a fantastic beach and just one person! He has chosen a perfect place in the shadow under that palm. Are there hotels here?

I can see that Iran also has lovely landscapes and beach scenes that we do not often see on TE.

If I can make a suggestion, this scene may look more attractive if you get out of the palm trees and stand near the beach, frame the bridge and include at the left side some of these palms. Just my opinion.

Salam Atousa, From your description & this scene it certainly sounds & looks like a place where one could sit under a palm tree & relax & enjoy the simple life, escape the worries of every day life. Good natural colours & detail, I'm showing my ignorance but I would not think of Iran like this tropical Island, we need more on TE of these type of shots. Very informative note.

I like a lot these palms, your photo is fantastic. Light in the sea makes blue colors and transparent greens a liquid water jewel. Perspective moving from right to left in an oblicous angle is a very good idea.

This indeed looks like Paradise with the beach palms and the turquoise sea. It was a good idea to include the person in the image for added interest and I like the way the shadows fill the empty space. Your WS image is perfect for demonstrating the clearness of the sea.

You made a wonderful compo with the pattern made by the palm trees and their shadows. It's also very pleasing to see that inviting turquoise sea and the presence of the man reading relaxedly under the shadow intensifies an irresistible sense of envy.

I had already heard about this paradisical island, but it's a surprise to see that it looks so "Caribbean" or "Southern Pacific", because I envisioned it more like North Africa or Egyptian Red Sea, that is, more dry.

I am a bit puzzle by your assertion about the existence of palm trees being a sign of humid weather. Didn't you mean more precisely coconut trees or alike? I say this because I am used to see palm trees not only in Sahara, but also in North African beaches.

One of the things that I really apprecciate in your country is the many different landscapes you have there! I like this, the shadow of the palm tree in foreground and the man calmly sitting in the shade and of course that fabulous colour of the sea!

I like the shadows created by the palms and having the person sitting there provides a focal point for the eyes. It's nice to hear that they are attempting to revive the palm tree on the island.
