Photographer's Note
I am back from a wonderful trip to Iran.
In the note to his photo
Gert wrote, that he had "found the courage, and opportunity, to take a close photo of Iranian women walking in my direction". Also Kasia wrote (in 2019): "Woman are not happy to have their photos taken by strangers, even women photographers like me, also wearing hijab." I find it very strange because everywhere people were happy ti have been photographed and posed with pleasure. They thanked for the photos.
I visited many beautiful examples of the Persin architecture, breathtaking landscape views but first of all - wonderful very friendly people. Iran is a safe and very interesting country, well worth visiting.

Hello Malgo,
You're back from a trip. You mean that right now you're between two trips :)
I was in Yazd in 1996. A wonderful place!
I'm sure you had a great time in Iran with its wonderful inhabitants.
I think Persian people are completely different from all their neighbours. Here they look all very happy that you took their picture.
Best regards, Paul

Ciao Malgo.I'm really surprised by this facility of photographing women in a Muslim country like this, maybe things are really changing ... for the better. Three beautiful, very sharp and detailed photos, I like relaxed and friendly expressions, and even the hidden WS is nice. You should have bought a black dress too to confuse you among the local people ... hehe ... I was a bit confused, you told me you were going to Oman, but this destination is undoubtedly interesting, even if the architecture is very reminiscent of Uzbekistan. Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hello Malgo,
Welcome back, and happy journey in a few days! I hope you will have time to get your laundry dry. ;-)
I am surprised you start with this kind of family portrait instead of beautiful mosques or sceneries. I think there is a certain difference between a young man trying to take discreet snapshots in the streets 46 years ago, and an elderly woman today taking a group photo of people she has somehow already befriended. Probably Kasia was also looking more for the "unposing" street photos.
But it's a nice group, so there is nothing wrong with the photo, but you should not find it strange that 2019 is not like 1973. Now even every Iranian is used to cameras in their smartphones. But look at the bearded man in the background of the WS. He doesn't look so happy, so he may have been upset.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hello Malgo,
An excellent first photo from your most recent trip. A good group picture of the many people from this place, who all were smiling at the camera. The architecture makes a good backdrop.

Hi Malgo,
I guess it is your appearance that make the women cheerful and willing to pose.
Great family portrait.

Hi Malgo,
You have captured well the smiling expression of the family. The point of view is showing the details of the architecture of the building. The light is giving nice tints to the colors. Have a nice day.

Ciao Malgo
It's good to see these women's faces. In some parts of the middle east in very orthodox and austere regions the entire face is hidden behind a veil and the eyes behind one way gauze they can see out of but you cannot see in. Believe it or not I once saw such a woman being photographed by her husband in Istanbul even though her entire face was covered! It begs the question, why? All you will see is the cloth, not the person. Tfs!

Jestes jeszcze w Polsce, czy juz w Emiratach? :-)

Got a nice smile from this family, all men dressed in western fashion, women have to (forced to) wear a Chador, Malgo.

Hello Malgo
Three great pictures, WS 2 (the street scene) is perhaps my favourite, also because of the bearded man in the bg, the one Gert pointed out. He provides a kind of counterpoint there.
I love photographing people, so it's great to read your note. For me, I find photographing people (especially women) a lot easier since we travel as a family (with my wife and daughter), not just a strange bearded guy with a camera. But the most important thing is always to take your time to interact, if you ask me.
Thanks for sharing these shots. Iran is high on my list of countries I want to visit. Let's just hope it will not be the victim of more international scheming.

Hello Malgo,
It's nice that you were able to capture smiling faces from Iran. I like the arches in the background, but the friendly people are the stars of this scene. I especially like the woman who is making a heart with her hands. :-)

Hello dear Malgo,
How wonderful that you found these people so friendly and receptive - and also that they were quite happy to have their photographs taken.
You have presented three charming photographs of happy relaxed people though, as Gert so wisely points out, your workshop photo of a street scene, while it contains in the foreground many happy faces, there is a bearded man on the left side who looks less than pleased!
Three delightful photographs and an interesting note to accompany them!
Wonderful!
Kindest Regards,
John.
