Blue Mosque, a photo from Yazd, East

Photographer's Note

We visited the Jameh Mosque in Yazd in the late evening when it was already dark. This mosque with its high altitude and blue tiles worked as beacons for the people inside the desert to find their ways. With its predominately blue ceramic tiles, this mosque has different proportions from many of the other mosques I have visited in Iran and has a character all of its own. In the night it is beautifully illuminated in blue.
It was difficult to take a picture but maybe you get the idea. It looks so different than during the day.

The presence of the persons is animating the scene. The lighted Mosque is impressive. The point of view is showing the details of the Mosque at night. Well done, have a nice day.

Hello Malgo,
Yes it really looks different from in the day. It's so much darker. ;-) But when my eyes get adjusted to the darkness I see lots of details among the many people gathered here. The larger version makes a lot of difference. I am sure the atmosphere must have been exciting. This is by far the best of the three photos with a perfect combination of architecture and people.

I never had seen an image of its internal part. nice they let you enter, take photos and reveal details of the mosque. excellent view with the special light. even personages are nice to see. excellent. iran is fabulous.
