Happy Cows, a photo from Gilan, West

Photographer's Note

Gilan is one of provinces in north of Iran covered with beautiful forests and cities with clean air , to enjoy the beauty of the nature, forests, mountains and the Caspian sea. Due to some effective factors such as Alborz mountain range, neighbourhood to the sea and vegetation, it has a humid and moderate climate. The historical village of Masouleh , the Roodkhan fort and some other worth seeing places like the beautiful city of Lahijan, tea and rice fields , citrus gardens, forest zones, Anzali lagoon and so on are seen in this green province of Iran.

i never thought iran would have such a landscape
it just shows how te teaches and brings people together
and we realize how much we have in common.
we are very ignorant of places beyond our own realm of experience.

Salaam Atousa,
It's a wonderful bucolic Spring view taken in the Summer. The flowers on the FG, the cows grazing, the little orange (?) trees compose a beautiful photo with the backdrop of the forested slopes partially immersed in haze. I like also the contrast of the sun on the FG and the the cloudy sky.

Hello Atousa, This image is in complete contrast with your last two postings, it is so green & full of life. A beautiful rural scene with the cattle feeding, nice colour, detail & contrast. I also like the effect of the mist on the hills.

A simple picture, but very harmonious. Perhaps with a little more saturation in the green, but combines well with the rest of hues.

Something different than we are accustomed to show in Iran, in relation to landscape scenes.

That is a part of Iran I didn have a chance to visit ( I only know Teheran and the road up to Mashad...) Very green and very European looking landscape here, with big happy cows (not like my skinny Cambodian ones ;D) The flowers in the FG add a nice touch of color.

Delightful sight of the Iranian spring. The composition is nice with this wooden barrier which gives rhythm to the image.
An image which reminds me the other sights in ancient films of Abbas Kiarostami as maybe : Au travers des oliviers (in french)Through olive trees (I do not know if it is the good the translation in English, I found that on internet : زیر درختان زیتون ,Zir-e derakhtn zeytoun). I do not know if you made the photo in the same province.

I love the cool greens and blues in your composition, the red cows provide the perfect accent. The colors are natural and true and the sharpness is good, I particularly like the details of the clouds.

Your photos change my image of Iran, I've always thought of the middle-east as desert but this could be in the foothills of California (but only in the spring)
