Photographer's Note
Find the place. Typically you will be shooting in nice sceneries away from the city lights that cover the most of the star light (if not all!)
Use a sturdy tripod. Night sky photography requires long exposures.
Focus the camera on a distant light, or the Moon and then lock the focus indicator to 閃anual focus. If there is no Moon or distant lights you could try to focus on a bright star. This may be tricky. If your camera has a live view, use it. It really helps.
Adjust the camera settings. One word here. MANUAL! Set everything manually.
Use a cable shutter/self timer of cam.
SHOOT IN RAW FORMAT! This will give you great flexibility at post processing.
Enjoy shooting!

Hello Ali,
This is a lovely night time shot. You have managed to find a place with little light pollution, presumably some distance from a major town or city, and that has helped you a lot. The sky itself is magnificent and I can see the constellation of Orion with the three stars making up his "belt"! And there is Sirius, the brightest star in the sky, off to the left!
The upper part of your image is a beautiful capture of the night sky and the lower part, with artificial lights, is nicely composed too with some lovely reflections on the calm water.
Excellent!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hello Ali,
This is a cleverly made photo, technically excellent but also very nicely composed. The play of dark and light areas and the silhouettes of the trees have created a quite exciting atmosphere.
Regards,
Gert

Did you mention in you critic of my 'Jogger' that you want to 'learn' photography?!...since I can count the stars in this masterly-executed picture, I rather consider you're an accomplished photo technician! Many compliments! Salamalecs. Robert
