Temple Mount from the Dung Gate entrance. This is most people's first impression of the Dome on the Rock, the Temple Mount and the Al Aqsa Mosque immediately after they enter the old walled city from the Dung Gate. Ophel Archeological Park is on the right.

Hello Chris,
This is a huge and almost overwhelming view, so old and so large. The bright light and very small shadow from the lonely man indicates the ruthless heat. He animates the view, but I feel rather sorry for him. I guess you weren't much better off, but maybe you had found some shade.

Hello Chris,
The higher viewpoint shows the famous area so well and the composition is really well-balanced between the ancient buildings at left and the more open area at right. That lonely person is a nice inclusion as well.

Hello Chris,
I can't remember that this was my first impression of the Dome of the Rock. But my trip dates back to 1979, so long before digital photography and therefore with many restrictions on the number of photos to be taken.
It is in any case a grandiose view and with only a few people in the picture.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for sharing this less popular view from Jerusalem. This is such an interesting destination and I feel like I didn't see enough from there. Interesting that there is inly ne tourist there but I suppose it is nearly midday so it must have been too hot for sightseeing.
Great point of view, I like how the light subtly touches the uneven surface of the walls,

Spectacular view with these ancient buildings and remains of ruins of this ancient city, where several cultures have intermingled. I like how well the ruins on the right blend in with the cypresses
