GARDEN OF OLIVES, a photo from West Bank, East

Photographer's Note

This is the famous Garden of Olives where Jesus entered in His agony waiting the moment of the prison and crucifixion while His disciples were sleeping. At side of this modern church there is many old olive trees. For some reason the image of Jesus in this mosaic remember me more an old lady than Him.

I like the wonderful frontage with arches and decorative columns.

Hello Jorge,
This church may be modern but it looks very traditional. The entrance is magnificent and the mosaic seems to be worth a good look. At least the many colours make it eye-catching.

Entrance of this historic place is quite impressive and stylish. Direction of light here is excellent too. I'm glad to see this historic place ireally is still an olve garden like it has been for thousands of years.

Beautiful picture of this famous Garden of the Olives. I never realised that it looks this way. I do remember the name of the place (Olijtuinen) from the stories I heard at school.

These links with the Biblical recounts are quite amazing.
The church, with its arches and pillars, and colourful, mosaic frontage is a strong focal image, seen even better on the Beta site.
I like your angled composition, creating a natural lead from left to right.

I like the framing by the greenery. It's a good sky and a nice view of the Church and detail in the stonework looks great. The splash of red contrasts well with the scene. Well observed and taken and tks to your interesting narratives. Congrats

Hi Jorge,

I like the colorful tile mosaic on the roof and the 2 symmetrical stag deer facing the cross at the apex. Good sharpness and a fine angled pov. Nice repetition of the arches and columns. Tfs!
