Nallihan

Photographer's Note

Last Sunday our target was Nallihan Birds Sanctuary which is located in Davutoglan village, 125 km from Ankara. This is a very special and unique place and offers magnificent opportunities for photography lovers. Bare mountains and hills, colorful surfaces and interesting land formations make the viewer feel as if he/she is on another planet. Each part of the sanctuary has its own characteristics. I'll try to introduce this region and the surroundings by uploading some more shots in the upcoming days. Hope you find here interesting as much as I do.

Hello Suleyman ,
This is a wonderful landscape of Anatolia , with outstanding coloured mountains , with curious erosive formations . I like a lot the contrast with the dark cloudy sky .

Hello Suleyman,

A geologist would be able to tell a lot just by looking at this. The different colored layers & strata reveal a lot but to a photographer they also look nice. Good warm cold color contrasts between the red & cyan tints. Nice repetition of the fg poplar trees. Reasonably good sharpness & the houses provide scale. Tfs!

Hello Suleyman - I find the layers of colour in the mountains so appealing in this shot, there is a subtlety and richness in this landscape which is truly beautiful. There is a slight softness about the shot and I noticed you used a long exposure, did you use a tripod? A little tweak in PP could improve the crispness. I like the B&W shot too. I am happy that you the color picture use as first picture.
This is extraordinarily lovely through the different colors of the rocks.
Notwithstanding it bad weather get we a very lovely picture.
Sharpness and clarity are amazing for these picture.

Hello Suleyman,
this is an excellent and captivating composition of coloured horizontal layers, included those of the valley and the clouds. The trees, field and cottages lead gradually to the magnificent mountain and its fascinating colours and textures. And then the sky of your trademark blue stands up to the wonderful landscape and offers a striking chromatic contrast. Depth and clarity are marvellous. The black and white version is very impressive and I would have been very happy with it, if I hadn't seen these colours and their subtle variations. Well done my friend. I had never seen this place before, thank you for this wonderful picture.

I agree, the b&w version is as impressive, in fact, maybe more, because of its contrasted tune.

The colors of the layers are interesting indeed. The sky, on the other hand, could be cropped a little IMHO.

Suleyman, first let me start by saying "WOW"!! The different layers of colored earth on the mountain are amazing and surreal. What a perfect catch to find this landscape with perfect lighting which has brought out the colors with masterful clarity. Ces montagnes d'Anatolie sont vraiment particuli鑽es et tu en as r饌lis� une superbe photo, int駻essante tant artistiquement que g駮logiquement. Le ciel charg� "dramatise" de jolie fa輟n l'image que je pr馭鑽e tr鑚 nettement en couleurs.

Hello Suleyman,

Like what Chris wrote (A geologist would
be able to tell a lot just by looking at
this), because this mountain has a lot
of layers and colors and that tells a
lot of history. Like the next picture:
it look a little bit like a landscape
of the Wild West in the States (nearby
the Bruce Canyon). The colors, light
management, composition are as always
great and the beautiful sky is a nice
extra.
