The national flag of Turkey, officially the Turkish flag. (Turkish: T�rk bayrağı), is a red flag featuring a white star and crescent. The flag is often called "the red flag" (al bayrak), and is referred to as "the red banner" (al sancak) in the Turkish national anthem. The current Turkish flag is directly derived from the late Ottoman flag, which had been adopted in the late 18th century and acquired its final form in 1844. The measures, geometric proportions, and exact tone of red of the flag of Turkey were legally standardized with the Turkish Flag Law on 29 May 1936.
The star and crescent design appears on Ottoman flags beginning in the late 18th or early 19th century. The white star and crescent moon on red as the flag of the Ottoman Empire was introduced 1844.
After the declaration of the Republic of Turkey in 1923, the new administrative regime maintained the last flag of the Ottoman Empire. Proportional standardizations were introduced in the Turkish Flag Law of 1936. Wikipedia

Hello Ali,
I have also used the Turkish flag a few times to create bright and eye-catching photos. This one served you well, but the trees and the platform from where to admire the view of the lake are also important to give us an idea of the place.

Hi Ali,
I like the presence of Turkish fag, and you added an informative note about it as well. The red looks nice against the blue sky.
In a way, in this place I feel like I support rather Armenia. The Ottoman empire swallowed so many nations and the resulting Turkey is built on the former remains of other cultures which were beautiful themselves. I like Turkey but I feel like some parts of it should probably belong to Armenia.
Nevertheless I am far from revising any borders. They may not be set as they should but nobody should try to change that anymore like Putin does for example.
People have moved on with their lives and the people are most important.

Hello Ali,
Yes, the Turkish flag is ubiquitous in Turkey. I can understand flying it on the ruins of fortresses, but why on the ruins of a monastery?
