Photographer's Note
Today - 2 of Istanbul's markets.
The main photo shows the Spice Market not far from Galata Bridge and Yeni Cami mosque. The most memorable product that we bought at the market was real and beautiful Lokum (known to most of you as Turkish Delight).
In the WS is a photo of the Old Book Bazaar.
Scanned from negatives.

Hello Ian,
Two very nice photos to my liking. Lots of local atmosphere, details to discover, colours and people. Istanbul is probably my all time favourite city, so I appreciate these photos.
Best regards,

Hello Ian,
You found a good viewpoint to overlook the market, I like the composition with the foreground full of people passing by (they don't seem to be potential customers) and the many spices on offer in the large stall behind them. Well done.

Vibrant picture of the local market place, Ian.
Though its an old scanned photo, still maintained good quality.

Hi Ian,
I bought recently some Turkish delight in the UK and it didn't taste well at all, very different from the real locum.
Lovely scene here looking down at the busy market scene.
It feels like an archival. I do admire the quality of your scans.
Very well done,
M

Hello Ian,
Did you take this from an overhead pedestrian crossing? If you did, let me tell you that they are no longer there. Instead, there is a giant underground crossing with shops near Yeni Cami. Where was the used book market?
Regards,
MT
