Close encounter, a photo from Antalya, Mediterranean

Photographer's Note

The Konyaaltı beach is located three kilometres west of Antalya, and it痴 a lovely, clean pebble beach which boasts blue flag status (a token of cleanliness). When we池e at sea, my wife always enjoys looking for pebbly stones of various shapes suggesting an animal, a human head, a heart or the like. I found this one to be extraordinary as it had the face of an alien, so I decided to take a close up view of this stunning pebbly stone to show how a fantastic sculptor nature can sometimes be.

La plage de Konyaaltı, situ馥 � trois kilom鑼res � l'ouest de la ville d'Antalya, est une jolie plage de galets, tr鑚 propre, dot馥 du drapeau bleu (gage de propret�). Lorsque nous sommes au bord de mer, l置n des plaisirs de ma femme est de ramasser des galets aux formes diverses, rappelant un animal, une t黎e humaine, un c忖r ou toute autre forme. J誕i trouv� celui-ci vraiment extraordinaire avec son visage d弾xtra-terrestre, et j誕i donc d馗id� de le prendre en gros plan afin de montrer que la nature peut parfois 黎re un sculpteur hors pair.

Il y a vraiment une ressemblance avec une figure humaine, avec cet 馗lairage; la nature est vraiment formidable. quelle dimension ceette face?

Bonjour Christian,

La nature n'a pas manqu� son coup avec cette roche. J'aime aussi rechercher les formes sp馗iales, souvent dans les cumulus. On dirait vraiment une bibitte monstrueuse de l'espace.

Dag Christian,

Uw vrouw heeft een goede gave, ik zou deze steen niet vinden.
Inderdaad met een klein beetje fantasie kan men een hoofd in herkennen.
Met een goede fotograaf bij de hand, moet ook deze steen een goed beeld worden.
Heel mooi scherp en helder als de mooiste sterren.

C'est vraiment hallucinant.Il a quelque chose de l'homme de Roswell qui a tant d馗hain� la chronique voici quelques ann馥s.L'effet de ton cadrage s駻r� sur cette vision de science fiction est inpressionnant.Un peuple venu d'une autre plan鑼e n'aurait il pas plac� cela sur ton chemin pour te d駸igner comme messager aupr鑚 de notre humanit�.En tout cas c'est une excellente r饌lisation.

this was an extraordinary find, I like looking for interesting pebbles too but have never seen anything like it. Your photo is great, you used the light and the shadows creatively and made this look like a real, expressive portrait. I also like the backdrop you chose and the way you rendered it both discreet and significant. The natural textures and colours are wonderful, their naturalness doesn't undermine the effect of the "portrait". Congratulations and thank you!

I hate to say it, but you're spot on when you say it has the look of the classic Alien face that we think exists today.

C'est incroyable! A very unusual stone for sure! Good choice of a vertical format. Excellent light contrasted light and textural details and I like the shallow dof. Well framed and composed with good breathing space right around. Merci pour ce partage!
