Photographer's Note

Nothing special from Dubai. No breath-taking skyscrapers, no tourists. But... We see a lot of pictures of fishermen but very very rarely of the fisherwoman. So it is kind of special though.
Dubai Creek was my favourite place in Dubai. I stayed in a hotel in Deira, very close to it and I went there many times. I like the view of the long row of the old boats similar to the ones I saw on the islands of Iran. Nothing so strange, it is very near. Also, the buildings on the other side are like these in Iran, in Yazd for instance, with the characteristic wind towers.

I will upload two Workshops.

I am horrified reading what is happening now in Iran. I am very lucky to be back at home. I felt so safe there! And now, first, the protests against the government, with 1500 Iranian citizens dead. The most violent protests since the rise of Iran's Islamic Republic in 1979. Recently, the events after the killing the general, and only yesterday the crash of the aircraft. I suppose that was the connection I used going from Tehran to Kyiv.

Hello Malgo,
Nice daily life photos. The boats are of course of a traditional design, but I wonder if they are now used for tourism purposes or by fishermen in their traditional way. Interesting photos with very good light and sharpness.
I guess it's unpleasant for you to consider it may have been the same flight and perhaps same plane you travelled with. When I was in Afghanistan in 2001 on a very small tour for Swedish journalists (3 reporters and 2 "guides") we spent two nights in luxury hotels in Pakistan, one in Peshawar and the other in Islamabad. Both hotels were later blown up by the local Taliban and many people were killed.

You're absolutely rigth with your words what's happening now in Iran. Unfortunately.
In all maj boks; in Islam, Christianity and Judaism there are names of about 150 prophets. And the God has sent them all to the same region in Mideast. :-)

I would say that this is a very special photo for Dubai with no skyscraper in sight. The ships on the quay are also worth a visit and cannot be found in our luxury marinas.
Fortunately, you have returned safely from Iran.

Ciao Malgo,nice scene of daily life,in fact isn't easy to see a fisherwoman,but i think at the bad quality of fish because the pollution. Interesting post about the wooden boat in the WS,perhpaps it comes from Sur,do you remember the boat factories of this Oman city working for Dubai? Excellent view of the cat in the other WS too. The distance between the two shores is giving depth to the composition. You have captured well the action of the fisherwoman. The point of view is shopwing the details of the boats. Have a nice day.

Hello Malgo, three interesting pictures, not necessarily tourist attractions but very worthy of being photographed.
The boats are unusual, I can say that I haven稚 seen any like these before.
The woman was wearing her red trousers just for you, always an eye catcher!

Ladne "portrety" lodzi w warsztacie.
Ja sprawdzalem numer samolotu UIA czy nim kiedys lecialem... kilkoma innymi - tym nie.

Hello Malgo,
A great view from the harbour, which looks so different from the photos we usually get so see from Dubai. Good capture of the fisherwoman in the middle in front of the water and the low houses on the other side. The centre is nicely framed by the old wooden boats on both sides.

It is indeed the area in Dubai that feels authentic. And such view of a fisherwoman is not so typical. My favourite is still the WS with the cat.
