Photographer's Note

I loved the full moon setting on Kempenfelt Bay in Barrie, Ontario tonight.
I was taking these photos tonight and my favorite thing happend, a couple walked in to my shot. I believe that people add an element to a photograph that nothing else can.
These two walked toward me minutes later and I asked them if it was ok that they were in my photo. They said yes, in fact, the man excitedly asked "will we be in the Toronto Star?" I was flattered, but told him about trek nature. Who knows, maybe both of them will be reading this soon.
They had a beautiful Collie too.
Anyhow, the full moon was breath-taking in the chill night air tonight and I thought I should share the moment.

The romantic atmosphere of the scene here reminds me of Caspar David Friedrich's paintings. The mood and the composition - even the couple that can be seen - are almost the same. One could say - Couple Gazing at the Moon - around 200 years later.
Wonderful.
Compare with the picture which I mean (and other Friedrich's works too!)

I can't believe only one person has commented! The sharp blues with the reflection of the moon in the water is perfect. My only critique would be to crop this as more of a panoramic and crop the 2/3rds of the sky above the moon out.

Hi Kelley,
You are absolutely right about the human element, this is what makes this such a perfect picture, setting it apart from just the usual postcard shots. Good exposure levels, nice reflections captured.
