Photographer's Note
With a 5 hour layover, I had lots of time to take photos at Toronto Pearson International Airport. The airport presents itself as not only a gateway to the world, but also a cultural hub. In 2000, Toronto Pearson asked artists from around the world to create works that represent Toronto痴 role as a gateway to North American air travel, while capturing the essence of flight. More than 300 submissions were received, and eight were selected as permanent installations. This is Tilted Spheres, a 39-foot long by 14-foot high sculpture by Richard Serra located in Pier F of Terminal 1. American sculptor Serra created the sculpture of four huge steel fins, each curved, torqued, and coated in black rust inhibitor, from 2002 to 2004. It was installed in 2007.

Havaalanı kendini sadece dnyaya aılan bir kapı değil, aynı zamanda bir kltr merkezi olarak gstermektedir. 2000 yılında, Toronto Pearson dnyanın drt bir yanından gelen sanatılardan u輹ş zn zaptederken, Kuzey Amerika hava yolculuğu i輅n bir ağ ge輅di olarak Toronto'nun roln temsil eden eserler yaratmalarını istedi. 300'den fazla gnderim alındı ve sekizi sabit kurulum olarak se輅ldi. Hello Murat Bey,
You timed your photo perfectly, catching the traveler perfectly as he wheels his carry-on suitcase across the diameter of the "Tilted Sphere." I've driven to Toronto on a couple of occasions but never flew there. It's an impressive airport.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hello Murat,
A nice artistic element posted in the airport hall, maybe with a purpose to fill empty space - but not with yet another shopping area.
Result had created a fine contrast, like "breaking" the ordinary pattern of airports.
Best regards,
Ike

Hello Murat,
A spectacular piece of sculpture. The man wheeling his luggage is well placed and provides scale. The symmetrical framing is perfectly suited to the sculpture.

Hello Murat,
Fascinating sculpture at Pearson International. I like sculptures where you can walk through. The man with the suitcase is a welcome detail. You spend the 5 hours well.
A pity I missed this place when I was waiting for my flight to Amsterdam.

Hi Murat
An impressive artistic steely sculpture and thought evoking central composition so much to admire this work of art, great dof and bags of details with excellent reference point. A striking subject beautifully illustrated with accompanying narratives and a fruitful time you've had whilst awaiting to catch your next flight. A shot beyond reproach, Congrats.
Best regards

Hello Murat, I had a lot of time in Toronto Airport and I walked around, but I haven't seen these spheres. Interesting piece of art. This airport is Internet friendly, so after 3 weeks without Internet in Cuba, I cjecked my mails and FB and TE with a great joy. Nice composition.

Hello Murat,
I don't remember seeing this sculpture, when I was at Toronto Airport a couple of years ago. It's a very nice installation, which you captured in a fine lighting. Good timing to get this man in the centre of the circle too.

Hello Murat,
it's interesting how the people have added a story that has given particular signifance to the scene and justified its concept of the artwork as well. I like very much the perspective and the interaction between the two people, the viewer is involved too. You got the scene with excellent timing and lit it very effectively for details, depth and mood. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,
Ourania
