Photographer's Note
Harbour Plaza Residences
Downtown Toronto is the attractive combination of architectural styles.
A varied mix of 19th, 20th and 20th century buildings.
Apartments, condominiums, commercial and finance offices, public, cultural and educational buildings. Almost all buildings of outstanding architecture designed by outstanding architects including several of world renown.
It is precisely this rich variety that makes Toronto a fantastic city to live and work in and for me a fascinating city to photograph.
Today I use the two towers of a residential building, known as Harbor Plaza Residences, designed by ArchitectsAlliance and put into use in 2017.
The architects were probably inspired by architectural style of deconstructivism of "The Aqua Tower in Chicago" and the residential building 哲EWYORKBYGEHRY
◄ Picture 1 ► is a detailed, graphical representation of the highly geometrically designed facade. A beautiful play of light and shadow by the balconies designed as rectangular trapeziums.
◄ Picture 2: ► is a special editing that creates an image of the facade displayed as I used to draw it a long time ago (before the computer age) as part of the drawings that belong to the architectural specifications of a building
◄ Picture 3 ► shows the towers in between on the left the facade of the "Sun Life Financial Tower and on the right the facade of 迭BC WaterPark Place, home to the Royal Bank of Canada

Hello Rob,
These are excellent modern buildings to photograph in Toronto.
I presume that the protruding areas are opaque, glass balconies, your photograph gives them a very 3D effect.
I really like the geometric patterns and the plays of light and shadows.
WE cannot help choosing favourites and for me, it is w/s 2 because the depth, between the two buildings in emphasised a little more.
Hope you are having a good day.
It is bucketing down here and has been all day.
Bev :-)

Hello Rob
Nice picture but after the buildings I saw yesterday in DUBAI it doesn't impress me. I was yesterday in Burg Khalida on 124th. Floor.
Best regards from Oman

Hello Rob,
I thought that you had again used the main post to make the building more attractive than it really is, but I was mistaken. Seeing the WS it is really a fine and interesting building, you just accentuated its character with this tightly cropped photo. No doubt it was inspired by those you refer to in the note, but it is slightly less extravagant. Nevertheless you enhance the pattern of the fa軋de and balconies into something that could once again have been a painting, or maybe a sculpture, from several decades ago.
Best wishes,
Gert

Dag Rob,

Amiti駸.

Hallo Rob, these brandnew towers are pleasant to look at, they have an elegant style. The architects did a remarkable work of design. The balconies and the windows are placed repetitively on the facade, it creates aesthetic patterns. Fine colors, good image quality, instructive photo note, regards.

Hello Rob,
Three splendid photos of these modern high rises. I love this main entry giving us a feeling of being lost on the facade of the building. 👍🏻👍🏻

Hello Rob,
Missed this one. Wonderful repetition of the nice patterns and shapes formed by the balconies. Good sharpness and effective tight framing. Almost a b&w shot with minimalist colour but a superb tonal range. Tfs!
