Photographer's Note
Continuing with scenes of Pitt Polder, in the distance lies Pitt Lake, second largest tidal freshwater lake in the world. Beyond, the rugged mountains stretch for hundreds of miles through some of the roughest terrain in the world.
In the foreground is the northern portion of Pitt Polder, a huge wetlands sanctuary, home to a diversity of rare birds, plants, fish, and amphibians. Sandhill cranes, on the endangered species list, reside here, as do ninety per cent of the ospreys in the Fraser Valley.
Wetlands such as these help against erosion and also filter toxins in the soil and water. Carbon emanating from commercial and automobile fuel emissions is stored here. When wetlands are disturbed or destroyed, large amounts of both carbon and methane are released into the atmosphere, thus contributing to global warming.

Great John! This is one of your best photos. I really like the curve of the channel in the foreground and the snow covered mountains in the background. Also, the color of the grass contrasts nicely with the blue of mountains.

Hi John. A spectacular landscape indeed. The composition is flawless. A very enlightening note as well. The only thing I'd do is heavier sharpness, especially to get more definition in the grass, but that's just me. Nice one John!

Hi John,
The colours are rich and the composition nicely balanced. However, the marked fuzziness really pulls down the impact of your image. So I think you should be asking - what went wrong? Is this from your digital camera or a scan from an old photo? If the former, there's got to be a technical glitch somewhere. Excellent note.

spectacular scenery.
did you use a lower resolution or have you over-cropped the pic, because it seem the pixel is "dissolving"
anyway, it's a nice shot.

hi john,
very good shot of a superb landscape.but the first impression that i had after taking a glimpse of your photo was that it requires sharpness to bring a bit of clarity to the image.good composition though.nice work.

Thanks four your useful and culture guidelines. You have a special artistic insight for this type of pictures, where you give a scpecial touch and vision. You would like to see my brother LUKKUL that is painter and gives also a special approach.
I like the angle you took, the colors and the final result, with soft tones and contrast.
Very well done!

Hi John, A nice capture of the spectacular landscape. I like the beautiful scenery with lake, monotone blue mountains and snow peaks. The blue sky makes a very nice contrast to the snow peak. The reflections of the snow peaks on the water make this picture attractive. I can see the contrast effort you have made here. I do like the quality as it is, which makes the picture looks like a painting. Well done.

Hi John,
When I don't look at the mountains, the
wetlands looks exactly like the wetland here in the neighbourhood. But the only place which isn't flat are the dunes and their height is only 30-40 m.
Funny such a similar area in such a different landscape.

Beautiful composition and scenery, seems a little let down by poor image quality.
This place looks very quiet and tranquil, a place o sit for half a day and reconnect with yourself and the environment.
3 points for composition, -1 for blurred image

Hi John,
I've browsed through your older photos and this one caught my attention. Excellent composition ephasizing the flatness of the country in foreground in contrast to the mountains in background. Beautiful, well saturated colours too. Very well done!
Thanks,
Marek

Hey John;
Just going through some of your older stuff... the colors in this shot really caught my eye. The reflection in the water amidst the patches of grasses - fantastic.
Nicely captured John!
