Photographer's Note

Early morning at Pitt Lake, the largest tidal freshwater lake in Canada. The lake is less than 35 miles from Vancouver and is home to a diverse wildfowl population. Beyond the lake the Coast Mountain range runs for hundreds of miles northward, a rugged terrain which is home to bears, cougars, and other predators.

John what a wonderful display of glorous morning light. So calm with only small ripples! That island in the center looks like a lush island in Hawaii. Well not quite but I have to say I love this better anyway. Good shooting and excellent lighting! Cheers Paul.

Amizing points of view of a beautiful landscape composition with nice cloudy sky and reflections in the ripple water. Good contrast between the clear green mountains on the forehand and the misty background. Nice to see.

Hi John - the thimbnail really jumps out, and as usual the large versiuon does not disappoiunt, what a magical light and the ripples make the lower half espewcially fascinating.

Welcome back John! You gratify us once again with a beautiful picture of a landscpae touched by light. Your pictures have a special feel to them, they have a personality, like paintings from the same artist.
I really like the reflections in the ripples on the water, and the bit of grass that comes out exactly at the top of the reflected mountain.
Maybe the grass in the bottom right is a bit distracting.

Hi John and welcome back. Can't wait to see some of your shots from the trip. As for this shot, I really like the light here, with the sun on the mountain and the sky darker and more dramatic. What makes this special for me is the wonderful reflection off the water, with the patterns of light and dark. Well done!

Ah thats a beauty and you created a lot of depht with an OOF frontplan, fine composed view, cropping from top to cut that one overexposed tp was an option I think to bring the fine colred intruding green land at 1/3 in the frame, the water is well textured withthe waves and an excellent slight reflection of the cloudy sky.

Hi John
I was expecting something from my side of Canada.Hope that the flu did noy ruin your trip too much.
The fall colors were only starting to appear on our last day in Gaspesia,which is the outing towards mt-Albert.
I appreciate the sharpness through all the picture,so much that I will ask you how you achieve it.When I look at my photos on the computer,they are sharp and contrasting,but when they end up on TE,they are more or less wash out,or the skies disappear even if it was dark to start with.I did bracketing,switching one sky for the other,and no more luck.

Very beautiful palce and peaceful, the light is fantastic through these clouds. We can almost see the face of a lion just before the last peak on the hill, just above where the trees are getting smaller !! Well seen.
