Photographer's Note
A heavy mist rises from the north end of Pitt Polder below rugged mountains known as the Golden Ears. The landscape of the Fraser Valley has changed drastically over the last fifty years, with many of the quiet places of natural beauty destroyed to make room for subdivisions and shopping centres.
"There was a time when meadow, grove, and stream,
The earth, and every common sight.
To me did seem
Apparelled in celestial light,
The glory and the freshness of a dream.
It is not now as it hath been of yore -
Turn wherever I may,
By night or day,
The things which I have seen I now can see no more."
William Wordsworth

Bonjour John,
c'est assez impressionnant ce 'mur' de brume ou de brouillard, le reste de paysage est si d馗ouvert, ensoleill et net , un contraste fabuleux.
Nous sommes sans doute l'altitude de nuages bas.
Have a great wekk-end.

Hi John,
Very beautiful image. I particularly like the two white benches. They seem to be inviting me to sit and watch the wonderous nature. The mist looks like a veil slowly uncovering the mountain. A very poetic shot.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi John,
Wonderful photograph, very striking scene. For me there are 3 photos, all different. The mountains in the top half have a mist filled vale. The green lane and benches have a misty sky, and the whole photo makes a very striking scene. Good work and a very apt poem. TFS,

Hi John, An excellent catch. The cloud helped you to create the clear contrast of the foreground colors and scene and the background colors and the scene. I like the composition very much. A well seen and well taken picture.

Incredible pic John, due to the thick layer of mist the mountain is seperated from the rest of the scene - the atmosphere is one of mistery. I like the colours and hard shadows too and the craggy textures of the mountain works wonderfully together with the soft green ones in the FG. Very nicely photographed!
Have a nice weekend,

Great shot as usual John.. I was having a look at the last pics of the gallery: I really missed something!

Excellent colours and light.

Bonsoir mon ami John,

Serwus John !
I'm just thinking how people resting on these benches must lift their eyes to notice the very top of Golden Ears :) Fortunately, we can enjoy it from less acrobatic perspective due to Your interesting composition. I like the misty effect, filling the center of the frame, and the way how the mount surprisingly rises above it.
You touched on the sad theme - destroying our common Nature and Heritage. I'm sure, we are all here trying to save It for next generations. Hopefully, not only in jpeg-format...
Be well John,

Excellent capture of this mist. I love to feel above the clouds, but in here I am behind them and can apreciate to diferent landscapes with an amazing effect of separation in this perfect balanced composition, of three equal parts. Great dephness and perspective given by this foreground and impressive snowed mountains seen in the back. A really fine shot!

HI John
Great shot here. The capture of the mist is what makes this picture special. I am envious of the environment you live in. The photographic opportunities must be endless. Not to mention the variation in light. The framing of this shot is good, with the land, mist and mountains giving a good division across the picture. Welldone

Nice work John. The whole scene rises in layers. Lower, it looks peaceful, pastoral. Then you rise through the layer of mist and it suddenly becomes majestic, with the snow caps looming over. Someplace I'd enjoy being, the best of two worlds.

This is quite the dramatic photo you have zoomed in for John. I like how some TE members envy the beauty you and I share where we live. I think there is alot of beauty in nature on the north side of the Fraser River. I also am sure you had a great time in the outdoors in this area. Excellent balance in thirds with the mist being the most appealling attraction, the trail creating a nice perspective. The benches really are a nice touch in this scene. I think this is one of your best John...well done!

Hi John
What a striking composition, with the three layers of mountain, mist and field. The lighting is quite special, really dramatising the foreground. There seems to be some noise (maybe from compression?) especially in the upper part of the frame but it's a great view anyway.
