Olympic Cauldron

Another Olympic place I haven稚 shown before, even though from the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. This is the Olympic Cauldron, where the flame burnt from February 12 to February 28, 2010. It was lit by ice hockey player Wayne Gretzky. The cauldron can still be found at Jack Poole Plaza (named after the man who brought the Games to Canada) next to the Vancouver Convention Centre.

Hi Lars,another nice memory following the Olympic theme, this time the Winter Olympics with the great monument that supported the Olympic flame, still visible in Vancouver. Hallo Lars,
Vermits je graag steden bezoekt waar Olympische Spelen georganiseerd werden, zal je ooit ook eens naar Tokyo moeten gaan. Je zal er ook van andere architectuur versteld staan.
Mooie compositie van de Olympic Cauldron.
Vanuit een goede hoek genomen en het plein met het water en de kleine fonteinen ziet er heel gezellig uit.
De bergen rond Vancouver zorgen voor een prachtige achtergrond.

Vividly presented monument with people around, Lars.
Clouds above the mountains enhanced the backdrop contrast on such a sight. Just yesterday I saw on TV how hot it got this summer in Western Canada, very bad situation - not evident on this picture when you were there four years ago.

Detta 舐 ju ett ganska fint monument som hade haft ett konstn舐ligt v舐de i sig 舸en utan anknytning till olympiska spel. Bilden blir 舅nu b舩tre av m舅niskorna som sitter runt omkring monumentet och av bergen i bakgrunden.

Ik hou zeker van deze foto, hij is zeer klassiek samengevat.
Het standbeeld of het symbool van de spelen, en de verlichtingspalen make uw foto aantrekkelijk.
U deed goed de mensen er aan toe te voegen, dit geeft meet leven aan de foto.

Hello Lars,

This is a very striking feature, erected for the Winter Games. You have captured the details well, showing us the unusual, shiny surfaces of the sloping elements and positioning them so that the create a triangular effect, mimicking the peaks of mountains behind.
I love things like this, probably because I am a great fan of the Olympics.

Hello Lars, the Cauldron is a very impressive structure and it seems to be in excellent condition still.
I like this point of view where the different struts frame the various parts of the foreground and more distant landscape.
The people animate the scene very nicely.
Excellent sharpness as always.

Quite artistic cauldron, and a good memorial of the Olympics in Vancouver. It's nice that it can be found on such wide public space. Background mountains are so nice on the scenes from Vancouver.

This spacious place is wonderful, where everything has such an avant-garde design, from the street lamps to this kind of monument that I do not know if it had any practical or only decorative use, the small pond also makes the place beautiful.

This is a lovely view of the cauldron and the surrounding site. I like the hills in the background, too. It looks like you had great weather when you took this photo. There were also just the right amount of people in the scene to add life, but not to make it seem too crowded. Take care!

in spite of having seen so many Vancouver photos from Craig, I don't recall seeing this spot.
Very interesting modern structure.
I like the great weather and also presence of people which adds color and life to the scene.
